Chapter 546: Chapter 546: The Antidote Has Been Developed
He hung up the phone and immediately turned around.
Chloe Reed asked, "Where are we going?"
Walker Grant said, "The antidote for Noah has been developed. We’re going to check on it now."
Hearing this, Chloe Reed pursed her lips slightly and turned to look out the window.
The Grant Family Estate.
Two cars stopped, one after the other.
A bodyguard pushed Rhonda Lowe out of the car. Rhonda Lowe stared at the magnificent villa and courtyard, her eyes wide.
"You’re this rich."
Her face full of excitement, she looked at Walker Grant and said, "I’ve changed my mind. Five hundred thousand isn’t enough. I want five million!"
Walker Grant looked at her coldly. "If your antidote works, you can have whatever you want. If it doesn’t, I won’t send you to prison. I’ll make you wish you were dead."
A chilling aura surrounded the man. His dark, almond-shaped eyes watched her indifferently, a murderous glint flashing within them.
Rhonda Lowe subconsciously took a step back, intimidated by his presence.
She shrank back and said, "The antidote I developed will definitely work."
She was determined to get that five million!
The group entered the villa. When the butler saw them, he had Sunny Reed taken away.
When Sunny Reed saw Chloe Reed, hatred flashed in her eyes.
Noah was unconscious upstairs.
Walker Grant looked at Rhonda Lowe. "First, give me a portion of the antidote. I need to have it tested."
But Rhonda Lowe shook her head. "No need. I guarantee it’ll work. If it didn’t, I wouldn’t have dared to contact your people, would I?"
"Enough of your crap, hand it over!" a bodyguard barked from the side.
Startled, Rhonda Lowe looked at Walker Grant again. A wave of fear washed over her, but she still took it out.
A bodyguard took the antidote to be tested.
The test results would take an hour, so they had to wait.
Rhonda Lowe’s eyes darted around shiftily. Her furtive, rat-like appearance was unsettling.
Chloe Reed watched her calmly and asked, "You developed the poison and the antidote yourself?"
"Yep, yep." Rhonda Lowe nodded, grinning. "Want to buy some? I can give you a great price."
But Chloe Reed said, "What you’re doing is illegal. Hasn’t anyone reported you?"
Rhonda Lowe just laughed nonchalantly. "The people who buy poison from me are breaking the law, too. Who’s going to report me? If they did, they’d get in trouble as well, you know."
Chloe Reed raised her eyebrows slightly. Rhonda Lowe had a point.
Thinking Chloe was easy to talk to, Rhonda Lowe moved a few steps closer and asked with a fawning smile, "Little girl, what’s your name? You look a little familiar. Have we met somewhere before?"
"Stop."
A cold command came from the side.
Rhonda Lowe froze. She forced an apologetic smile and said, "I was just chatting with her. It’s so boring just waiting around."
Walker Grant stared at her coldly, and his overpowering presence made her drop the fawning smile.
Chloe Reed stood up and walked upstairs.
Seeing this, Walker Grant followed her. He watched as she entered Noah’s room, where she stood by the bed looking down at the boy’s pale face.
Walker Grant said, "He’s really been through a lot."
Chloe Reed nodded. "Indeed. He’s so young, but he’s had to suffer so much. If he finds out the truth when he’s older, I can’t imagine how heartbroken he’ll be."
His own mother had poisoned him, leaving him with all sorts of lingering health issues. Chloe couldn’t even bear to imagine the despair and hatred he would feel.
Walker Grant walked to her side, his tone softening. "Chloe, once he’s cured, let’s have him live with us, okay?"
