Chapter 45: 45: Nyx...?!
The name didn’t sound familiar to Ayra at all. "Nyx..?" She repeated as she stared at him. "Is he some sort of important person or something?"
Commander Lynn nodded. "Yeah, he is. Very important. He’s like a treasure of our tribe. A vital treasure and a dangerous weapon."
Ayra thought harder. She hadn’t heard of him, talk more of even seeing him. So she might actually be ignorant with regards to this. "Nyx..." She repeated. "What happened to him?"
He got up as he continued looking around. "No one knows. One day he went out on patrol with us. It was right here... We encountered some wild monsters... And while we were fighting them, Nyx went berserk. And then he disappeared."
He continued. "It’s been months and we still haven’t been able to find him. No one knows where he is. And we’re still looking for him till now... And we’ll probably continue until we find him.." he said as he ran his fingers through the tree there.
Ayra listened and watched him. She couldn’t think of anything important now. She didn’t think she knew this Nyx. But she asked nevertheless. "He must be really important to you..."
"Like I said, he’s a treasure. A dangerous weapon that can’t be casually used. He’s just.. a unique wild beastman. He’s the most powerful beastman here in our tribe, even more powerful than the three leaders. Yet he’s not a leader."
He continued. "His extreme power comes with extreme instability. He’s prone to going berserk and losing control easily while also being a complete destruction to anything around him. He has no class at all."
Ayra was surprised at the description he was giving. She found it fascinating and scary at the same time. But she couldn’t help but find this description extremely familiar as well.
"He’s a wild cat," Lynn explained as he continued searching. "A true wild cat indeed who can’t be controlled. That’s why we need to find him as soon as possible.. who knows if he’s gone berserk..."
He continued searching while Ayra stood there, memories flooding into her mind as she gasped softly. These memories from the original host were sharp and vivid enough for Ayra to know that she did know this Nyx guy!
Not her personally, but the original host had certainly encountered this wild cat and she actually had some unpleasant past with him.
She recalled from the original host’s memories that this wild cat was in the Silvermoon tribe. The Silvermoon tribe had brought in a wild beastman a certain time a while ago. And it was this wild cat. And they had brought him in for experimental reasons.
Ayra figured they must have kidnapped him.
They had locked the wild cat in an underground cage and tied his hands up and his legs down to the ground. They kept the wild beast like that all along while torturing him.
The wild cat was at berserk level. A dangerous wild cat that was at the edge of going insane. But these people of the Silvermoon tribe tortured and manipulated him.
They would use all possible medications on him to see how he’d react. Turning him into a lab rat since they probably knew his worth—a dangerous weapon.
And so they tested all they could while he ran crazy in all possible ways. They didn’t care, he was their lab rat anyway. Their material. So they kept torturing him even while he was berserk. They held him down everything and gave him a dose of medication to bring him down from corruption level a bit.
Shockingly, the medication didn’t even work much. It only brought down a little percentage of the berserk level. But it didn’t even help bring him to sanity at all. This tortured wild cat had been in berserk mode ever since he was there. It was clear that nothing, not even the medication, could soothe him to sanity.
Ayra recalled clearly now. While this wild cat was beaten and bruised, bleeding and going crazy, the shameless villainess didn’t stop her torturous schemes. She always went there to meet the wild cat, flogging him, mocking him, torturing him in all ways possible.
The original villainess saw it as a way to relieve stress. Torturing this wild cat when bored always. And having fun while watching this wild cat in pain. She even touched him improperly at places while he was unconscious and took advantage of him. She basically tortured and harassed him.
So it was clearly obvious that this dangerous weapon—the wild cat—knew and hated Ayra, or the original villainess, down to the core.
Ayra gasped as she staggered backwards, feeling speechless. "You’ve got to be kidding me.." She couldn’t believe this villainess did even worse?! How much trouble could this villainess have put her through?!
She shook her head as she stared at Commander Lynn who was still looking around. "But, must we bring him back here if we find him...?"
"Of course. The wild cat must be dangerous, but he had already made this place his home. So it’s only right to find him and bring him back to his home where he can have peace," he explained as Ayra gulped hard.
She didn’t even know how to feel about that. Because she was certain that if that wild cat came back and saw her, she would be dead meat! The cat would certainly devour her without a second thought!
And the thought of it simply made her shiver, her stomach grumbling while she felt warmth spreading through her body.
Commander Lynn stared at her. "Are you okay? You don’t look too well?" He asked while he approached.
Ayra immediately shook her head with a smile. "No, no worries. I’m fine... I’m totally fine.." she said but she clearly wasn’t fine.
This villainess had made an ultimate enemy for her. One that would certainly kill her off without a second thought. Now Ayra was sure that her death was on its way. She could see her future in hell clearly!
