Chapter 1055: Chapter 1053: Purpose and Progress (Part 2)

Igor never expected Kadi to ask such a question; Kadi’s concerns were different from most people’s.

"That Soul Devourer Master really believes so, always saying that the Agent of Destruction possesses powers connecting the two worlds."

Upon hearing Igor’s words, Kadi immediately checked himself: "There’s nothing special about me; how could I be this Agent of Destruction?"

"What’s important isn’t whether you’re the Agent of Destruction; what’s crucial is whether you’re still Kadi," Kevin said from the side. He seemed to be the most relaxed among them, never worrying about Kadi. Having watched Kadi grow up, he knew Kadi very well. He was confident that Kadi wouldn’t do anything outrageous. Even if Kadi were this Agent of Destruction, he wouldn’t bring an ounce of harm to Guru Mountain.

Kevin was just that confident. In his heart, Kadi was a child with a proper mindset, able to distinguish between good and evil. Even if this young one wasn’t of his kind, even if he was a one-eyed monster.

"Of course, I’m Kadi. No matter what, I am Kadi. Even if I truly come from the Spirit World, I’m still Kadi." Kadi answered firmly, leaving no room for doubt, as if he had prepared this answer long ago in his heart.

"Now everyone can drink and eat meat in peace." Kevin downed his drink in one go; he was always very confident, and at this moment, even more composed and calm, as if nothing had happened.

"Uh..." Igor and the others looked at each other, but obediently grabbed the rum fruit to drink.

Kevin possessed a compelling force, and no matter how others viewed things, he had complete trust in Kadi. He demanded the same trust from others toward Kadi as well.

Kevin’s demand seemed a bit unreasonable, but precisely this unreasonableness eased Kadi’s tension. It made Kadi feel that things were no different from the past. Whether he was the Agent of Destruction or not, at least in the heart of that old Kevin, he was always Kadi.

To Kadi, that was enough.

He then looked at Tobin Sol: "If you have any other questions, just ask. What I can tell you, I will; what I can’t, there’s nothing I can do."

This straightforwardness stunned Igor and the Sol Brothers; they never expected Kadi to be so uninterested in his past.

Igor felt that if it were him, he would definitely dig to the bottom—why he was called the Agent of Destruction, why he came here to destroy this world, and why on Guru Mountain... Igor had a lot he wanted clear answers to. Unfortunately, he wasn’t Kadi; he didn’t have the right to ask such questions, and even if Kadi did, he couldn’t answer them. In truth, he wanted to know these answers for himself.

Igor glanced at the Sol Brothers, hoping they could clarify these relationships, hoping they could gain something from Kadi.

"I have nothing more to ask," Tobin Sol smiled faintly, having clearly given up on questioning Kadi.

This left Igor baffled. Weren’t they supposed to scrutinize Kadi for any details? Why give up so quickly? He looked at the Sol Brothers with a resentful gaze, hoping Sol could give him an answer.

Tobin Sol naturally noticed Igor’s gaze and shrugged: "Isn’t this the outcome you hoped for?"

"But... but I was just convinced by your words about never missing a chance to understand the enemy’s details!"

"Kadi isn’t dwelling on his past, so why insist on someone understanding their past?"

"This..." Igor had many "whys" in his heart, but now he felt Sol’s words were reasonable, "Ah, so you came all this way for nothing."

"How could it be for nothing? We met the esteemed mentor and learned that you all are striving on Guru Mountain. We’re all dealing with that unseen enemy; someday, we’ll have to face it!" Tobin Sol laughed, showing no disappointment that Igor had hoped for.

"In any case, you’ve sort of achieved your purpose, though the result isn’t promising," Igor said, and the atmosphere returned to its previous cheerfulness. His chat with the Sol Brothers around the campfire didn’t stop others from singing and dancing.

At that moment, Kadi was dancing a war dance with Kuren, his tail rhythmically hitting the ground, adding presence to the dance.

"We didn’t just come here for a few things, Igor." Tobin Sol looked at Kadi’s war dance and shifted the topic to their real purpose for coming.

"I know, you still have to escort the gold of the magistrate back to Luona," Igor said casually while taking a bite of meat. He thought he understood the situation quite well.

"Hehehe, it’s not just that, Igor." Stan Sol was amused by Igor’s demeanor.

"Then what else are you here for?" Igor thought the Sol Brothers were being mysterious.

"We came to find you!" Stan Sol smiled.

"Find me for what? I can’t help you; you’re the leaders of the Thunder Army. I don’t know anything!" Igor’s eyes opened wide, looking at the Sol Brothers.

"What, don’t you want us to find you? Had we known, we would’ve turned back at Gaga County." Tobin Sol laughed along, clearly finding Igor’s reaction reassuring.

"Not at all, I actually hope you come here. It’s just, well, how to put it." Igor scratched his head, unsure of what to say.

"Alright, Igor, I know you’ve always been concerned about the situation outside. We also came to discuss what we currently know with you."

"Uh... as for me..." Igor started thinking, wondering if he had any new findings. The changes on Guru Mountain seemed notable, but he had already told Perkins!

"We know you told Perkins, but Perkins has been busy and hasn’t had time to inform you." Tobin Sol said.

"Are you saying that there’s..."

"Yes, there’s been progress, but other things have happened too."

"Good things or bad?" Igor asked, feeling something fishy about the situation.

"Naturally, there are both good and bad."
