Chapter 519: The Green Dragon’s Delivery

’Is it awake again?’

The Pseudo Sky Dragon!

I was simply asked to take care of it until it grew big enough to restore its former glory, but even after so much time had passed, I still had no idea how long that would take.

Even if it was finally time for it to become complete, the other half was in an entirely different domain. In all honesty, I expected that even the impossible task of stopping the Demons could be completed before that happened.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t make sense for the Dragon Ancestor to help me travel to other Domains if restoring their ’son’ wouldn’t take long.

’As timely as ever.’

Although the Dragon sleeping in my right arm was registered in the Blood Companion skill, it was completely different from the lively Light that was registered right above.

He slept almost the entire time, until something ’special’ happened...

’Not like I’m complaining.’

Naturally, I could only be grateful considering that saving me from my closest encounter with death was one of these instances. However, feeling that the dragon was awakening once again, I could tell that something crazy was going to happen once again!

{I also wanted to say hello to Sky, but even he was reduced to such a miserable state. However...}

The cute-looking green thing spoke as calmly as possible, but behind these calm words, I could feel a powerful blend of sorrow and anger, and for once, I partially shared the same feelings.

Regardless of the Dragons’ involvement with this strange world, it went without saying that they were practically the strongest race in all of the Lost Realms’ Domain.

I didn’t know what the existing number of dragons was, but I was positive that there couldn’t be more than a dozen of them, so for a fourth of them to be ’crippled’ or dead was such an unexpected tragedy.

’It’s only normal to target the largest obstacles, but...’

Naturally, even though I hated the Demons with my entire being, I couldn’t exactly dispute the approach they took to conquering the Lost Realm.

On the surface, it might have looked like they were struggling a lot to deal with the basic combatants at each domain, but it was all about maneuvering around the restrictions that the Domains placed on them.

’The true safety net.’

No matter how I thought about it, the fact that the restrictions were possible to evade with enough calculated moves meant that they were just makeshift solutions.

When push came to shove, only those who were ones with the elusive ’Laws’ could truly be considered the Guardians of the Lost Realm. Unfortunately...

’It still feels unbelievable.’

The means that the Demons had were almost impossible to predict. Just when it felt like they could be finally stopped, they would always find a way to break through.

It might be only 3 Dragons now, but that was just because I only encountered 3 Dragons so far. For all I knew, the entirety of the Dragon race could all be incapacitated as of this moment.

Thankfully...

{He at least remembers my presence to give up his food.}

Just like the Sky Dragon was on its path to recovery, the Green Dragon also seemed to have a chance at making a comeback.

The way the Green Dragon referred to it as food made me wonder if I guessed wrongly, but there was only one thing that could possibly save him from his predicament.

And I became even more sure of it as the inscription on my arm let up, jumping into 3D form.

’It was hard to see then, but it’s all clear now.’

The Pseudo Sky Dragon was now larger, almost twice the size of my arm. However, there was one more detail that I didn’t see just before we jumped out of Nature Domain.

Back then, it could be said that we both consumed the Green Dragon’s essence, but each of us accepted it in a different manner.

For me, the new addition completely assimilated with the already existing bloodline, giving my clear azure scales a hint of relaxing green.

On the other hand, the Pseudo Sky Dragon still retained the same deep color he had from the beginning. In exchange, he had a wavy green stripe that stretched all the way from his head down to the end of his tail.

’So he didn’t digest it?’

I felt that I could relate to the Green Dragon’s words at this point. Just like he could retain his life using the Volcanic Dragon’s essence, the Pseudo Sky Dragon was likely to accelerate his return if he consumed the right parts of the essence we chanced upon.

However, from the looks of it, the Pseudo Sky Dragon seemed to have consciously chosen to store most of what he took at that time... As if he knew that we would be standing here at one point.

’...Across the Domains delivery service. Aren’t you a nice little brother?’

One might say that it was a lucky coincidence, but I was completely aware that this was anything but that.

Although I realized it this late because I only heard the other part of the story now, the Pseudo Sky Dragon, who wasn’t as ’asleep’ as he appeared to be, likely knew it from the beginning.

At the very least, he became aware of the fact that Green Dragon was stranded in another Domain as soon as he found the discarded essence.

In turn, this meant his brother’s only chance of survival fell on him acting as an inter-dimensional delivery man, or rather, Dragon.

’The way we connected... Can we do it across the Domain?’

It was hard to recognize that transmission of raw emotions as a form of communication, but I wasn’t a real Dragon to begin with. If transmission between actual Dragons was more accurate and worked at longer distances...

The Green Dragon was likely betting on this possibility when he portaled away!

"Roar!"

The Pseudo Sky Dragon let out a short cry as the green line started shining. It looked like he wanted to get this done with as quickly as possible so he could go back to sleep.
