Chapter 503: The Diran Race.

The Diran race was facing the most difficult period of its history.

According to the history that was spread down through generations between every variant human race, they were all part of the ancient humans who lost their original planet and the story of the Diran Race was no different.

Guagua, the current leader of the Dirans could remember when his master told him the story that kept on being passed down through generations.

Though the history of the variant humans that were spread across Oceania had one common point, in the end, there were a lot of different elements that made the explanations different between all of them.

The story of the Diran race started over a millennia ago after the Great Fall. After the great fall, as blessed variant human races like the Atlantians, the Snowmen, and others rose, the Diran race discovered themselves also.

When the variant humans first appeared, they were prey at the very bottom of the food chain and had no other choice but to be preyed on by the beasts.

With time though, they slowly discovered themselves and fought for a place for themselves in this new planetary dimension.

Whereas privileged variant human races like the Atlantians, the Snowmen, and the Elves found it a bit easier, the Dirans had a far rougher time.

Atlantians could be said to be the perfect variant human race. They had almost all the advantages of the perfect human body, and they shed all the disadvantages that the human body brought also.

Their intelligence was on par with normal humans, they were stronger, more athletic, and had a stronger immune system than normal humans.

They were perfect from the perspective of variant humans.

Other variant human races like the Snowmen and the Elves had it rougher, but in the end, they all had different advantages that gave them an advantage that they could lean on to propel their race into hegemony.

This was the reason why all the above-mentioned variant human races were able to create powerful Empires of their own.

As for the Dirans and a lot of other unlucky variant human races though, they had it worse. The Dirans were nocturnal and sub-forrosial variant humans.

They mostly operated at night as their power was suppressed while operating during the day. They mostly live under the seabed also, with their only blessing being their strong affinity for earth magic. πŸπ—ΏπžπšŽπš πžπš‹π•Ÿπ¨πšŸπžπ•.π•”π• πš–

They were seen as lazy variant humans by a lot of other races, with their only strong element being their terrifying scavenging ability.

They were like rats, but with a lot more savageness and aggressiveness.

Since they were not as strong as other beasts and variant humans, they could only hide underground to protect their lives while occasionally coming to the surface to engage in large scavenging raids to save up on food.

This way had they been able to survive the perils of the Dungeon of Souls for over a millennium without going extinct.

Now though, the existence of the Dirans was finally being threatened.

The Orca Revolution affected every single beast in the Dungeon of Souls, but they affected some more than others. The white tier and orange tier predators and variant human races like the Dirans were the ones that were oppressed most.

Dirans was a tan-skinned humped-backed version of humans with extremely wrinkled and ugly skin that was adapted due to their years underground.

They could control earth magic, and their skin was one of the toughest too among variant humans. Another boon about their race was their terrifying reproduction speed, it was one of the reasons why they never went extinct.

They had a lot of lacking parts, but the main ones about them were their low intelligence and their lack of proper adaptations to fight.

Despite all their disadvantages, Dirans managed to survive through the years with their little advantages, most especially their scavenging ability that made sure that they never died due to starvation.

All these advantages could not save them though when the Orca Revolution started. Once the war started, the Dirans were swept by the storm that it brought alongside all the other beasts and they had it worse.

Defenseless, their homes were overrun by the destabilized beasts that were running and fighting for their lives as the Diran race also became destabilized.

After the first week of the war, they became destabilized completely. A lot of them died in the first week, their home was destroyed, and the few of them that remained were powerless to defend themselves, they were doomed.

Guagua, being the current leader of the Dirans was faced with the biggest dilemma of his long life as he decided that the Dirans split up to increase their chances of survival even if they were placing their fate to luck.

The remaining Dirans were separated into different locations.

A lot of beasts and variant humans didn’t know about this special breed before, but with their separation, they finally entered the limelight.

It took no time for others to know how useless they were though; they were to be annihilated but they survived when a powerful organization led by a Red tier predator finally coincidentally discovered their scavenging abilities.

They were masters at the job, miles above everyone else.

The powerful Red tier predator did not hesitate, he recruited them immediately into his organization, provided and fed them. In no time, they became loyal to him and became his special scavenging team to benefit from the war.

Once the Red tier predator started it, others joined as Dirans suddenly became a much sought-after commodity that was wanted by everyone.

In no time, almost all the available Dirans were taken by different rural settlements and even Empires that sought to benefit from the scavenging business.

The Diran group that was led by Guagua was rumored to be working for a mighty variant human Empire already with a complicated story behind it.

Sebastian didn’t care about those that were already taken though, to start his scavenging business in the Blood Wreckage, he wanted to get the best start possible, and employing Dirans would present him with this reality.

This was why he started searching around for them, and after fighting dozens of intense battles in this period, he finally managed to get the information that he wanted after taking on and defeating a massive beast group alone.

Intimidated by his strength, the leader of the massive beast group spilled the beans. A variant human mercenary recently sold the news about a hidden settlement of Dirans, and a lot of forces were already rallying for it.

The news was known by some of the major scavenging forces already and they were all already rushing and vying for it, Sebastian wanted in on the fun.

Taking this group of Dirans would be the first major step of his entrance into the war scene.

And also, if a battle erupted, he wanted to introduce himself ahead of time to his future competitors in the Blood Wreckage to prevent future inconveniences that could have been easily avoided.

Once Sebastian got all the information that he needed, he turned and exploded away with speed. The race for Dirans already started.
