Chapter 481: Construction.
After about 2 hours of roaming around cautiously while looking for the perfect location to settle down, the Sebastian Warriors Army finally saw a suitable location to build their base on.
This was not a ready-made location though, they needed to work on it.
The reason why Sebastian and his soldiers decided to settle down here was simple. It provided almost everything that they needed, high ground to scout for danger, a basic defense topography, and room for an underground base.
Of course, the location that they found was in a seamount but due to all the traumas that this Great Sea already suffered, nothing was normal here anymore.
This seamount was a peculiar one, having been formed from the collision and merging of numerous smaller fragments that separated from whole seamounts.
The battles that occurred daily in the Dungeon of Souls due to the ongoing war ranged from small to big, and the big ones most times were so intense that entire seamounts were blown to bits by the shockwaves.
From some of these seamounts that were destroyed and torn apart, fragments from them survive and continue to float aimlessly in the sea.
These fragments from different seamounts meet and merge to form a new whole. The current seamount that the Sebastian Warriors Army intended to erect their base on was a merged seamount also.
Due to its irregular shape which looked like a bowl on top of a small stool chair, it was taller than most others which brought the advantage of high ground.
The Sebastian Warriors Army needed the advantage of high ground in most of their operations. In these dangerous waters, they could not afford to miss out on this advantage since it was too crucial to their survival.
With the high ground advantage, they could know if an enemy was coming for them faster than if they were on the lower ground.
A normal bowl is usually shaped in a semi-circular shape, and this seamount looked exactly the same, at least for the part above the stool chair part.
Its top was in a ring shape which provided a bit of defensive cover to whoever lived inside of it and was the 2nd reason that motivated Sebastian to choose here.
The last reason was the space that it had.
Though this seamount was formed from the merge of small fragments of dozens of destroyed seamounts, a lot of them were able to merge enough to form a seamount with a fair amount of space inside it.
It was only slightly smaller than the seamount in the ocean volcano region where Sebastian terrorized the Mammoth Crocodiles and met Octumpedam.
Apart from the basic defense provided by the seamount’s shape, Sebastian wanted his army base to be built underground.
He didn’t emphasize this much at first, but after coming to the Dungeon of Souls and from what he already saw, an underground base was the best choice.
This was the reason why the seamount needed to be worked on.
There were only a few beast clans in this seamount and they only settled here recently since all the original clans here were already either annihilated or displaced by the ongoing chaotic war.
Sebastian didn’t intend to displace all these new beast clans since they could prove useful in the future, his only target was the alpha clan here.
Surprisingly, the alpha clan there was a clan of Tiger Snakes, a mutated species of Snake who were famed for their constricting strength.
Knowing that the alpha clan was a clan of snakes eased Sebastian’s mind, it made everything easier and smooth going.
"Annihilate them all!"
This time, to avoid stories that touched, the warships were not put to use as Captain Omega led the soldiers to destroy the clan of Tiger Snakes.
The snakes put up an admirable struggle, but in just 30 minutes, they were annihilated with the few that survived escaping out of the seamount.
With this, the Sebastian Warriors Army announced their status to all the other beast clans in the seamount. There was a new boss in town.
After claiming their territory, now it was time to start work. This became a problem since the Sebastian Warriors Army only had so many Earth domain magicians, and they were the perfect candidates for the job.
This was a problem to be addressed later, work still needed to start. The fact that the army had no purple tier Earth domain magician became glaring here.
With no proper Earth domain magician to take the helm, Thong, the new recruit took it. After the fierce battle, seeing the strength revealed by Sebastian, being an intelligent Thresher Shark, Thong took the hint.
He didn’t wait for Sebastian to ask first as he volunteered to join the army himself. The understanding showed by this Thresher Shark pleased Sebastian, and he did not waste any time in adding him to the army.
As a Mystery Pryer predator, Thong could control all the elemental magic domains fluently and could serve as a makeshift earth domain magician for now.
For the now, he became the leader of the construction project.
While work started with all the other warriors of the army engaging in one thing or the other, Sebastian finally called all the higherups and strongest powerhouses of his army for their first meeting in this new Great Sea.
The emphasis of this meeting was to discuss the way forward.
Once all the higherups were gathered and he got their attention, Sebastian did not waste any time as he went straight to the point with them.
"As you can see, the Dungeon of Souls is a Great Sea in a chaotic period".
"It is dangerous, but I like it, it aligns with my plans".
"I recruited you all without really telling you my ultimate ambition. I didn’t just come to this Great Sea for nothing, I came here with a plan".
"Now, let’s just say that I want to build a reputation for myself and the army".
"Apart from my more personal agendas, from today, I want to declare that the main agenda of the Sebastian Warriors Army is growth and expansion".
"I want one day for this army to be the greatest army in the world!"
"I don’t want to take the slow and steady route which is why I came to this chaotic region. In here, we can fight to triumph, there are enemies to fight".
"I want us to fight, recruit, and build the army".
"Like we just saw, the demand for warships here is very steep and aggressive". Sebastian grinned. "I love it, that is the justification that we need".
"I say that 12 warships are not enough for our army".
"The same way they can loot ours, so also can we loot theirs. While fighting and recruiting new soldiers, we need to loot warships also".
"You’ve joined my army and there is no going back, there is no slowing down either, you either go fast and strong with me or fall".
"To end the meeting, I want to officially declare our slogan. When I shout ’Sebastian Warriors’, you shout ’we never falter’!"
"Sebastian Warriors!"
"WE NEVER FALTER!"
With that, the official first meeting in the Dungeon of Souls came to an end. While they left, Sebastian remained behind as he got prepared to set his own agenda and plans straight.
