Chapter 477: Intimidation Tactic!
Sebastian was only able to go through his system notification once before he left it since the current situation demanded his attention more.
The Sebastian Warriors Army fought their first official battle against a hostile group, and their power was felt immediately as they absolutely crushed the group of Sabertooth Fish, rendering them helpless.
When the army was already on the verge of annihilating the Sabertooth Fish, Thong gave them a warning but it came a little too late.
The hidden dangers were already here!
Whoosh!
For some good few seconds, Sebastian could only hear the sound of the wind blowing past his ears as numerous predators of different species rushed towards the direction of his 12 warships.
Without even introducing themselves first or at least showing their reason for doing it, these predators started attacking the warships rampantly.
Like was normal protocol, once the warships came under attack, they defended themselves while retaliating against the enemies in the most furious manner possible as they hauled attacks back at them.
The last of the Sabertooth Fish were rammed to death by a group of Bull Fish after being bullied by a bunch of other predators.
From the movement of these beasts though, they were not after the Sabertooth Fish, nor were they after the lone Thresher Shark, instead, they were all after the 12 warships.
They were like a group of starving and thirsty immigrants who finally found an oasis in a desert, they were scrambling all over to get a taste of it first.
In just a few seconds after their arrival, everywhere turned chaotic as the Sebastian Warriors Army struggled to hold its ground against this tide of beasts.
Thong almost died from the stampede already but Strong intervened. Having heard of Sebastian’s intention to recruit this fellow, Strong was enthusiastic to impress and he tried his luck by doing this.
Amid this chaotic battlefield where throwing magic skills only had a marginal effect, the best way to rescue one beast among the bunch was to get a Pugilist King predator who could bulldoze through every obstacle with his body.
And the perfect candidate who fulfilled all these requirements was Strong.
Once he moved, he moved like an unstoppable boulder. Strong bit ruthlessly and rammed against any predator that was obstructing his way as he soon pushed and tossed his way over to Thong’s location.
Once he got to Thong’s location, protecting him was not too much of a problem either as he tanked all the damage with his sturdy skin.
While Strong protected the recruit, Captain Omega struggled to organize the soldiers to defend against the stampede of mutated beasts.
Till now, this Captain was confused by all that was happening.
Sebastian was confused also by all that was happening, but once he combined the Thresher Shark’s words and reaction with a memory of his, he finally understood exactly what was happening.
Sebastian back on earth may not look like it, but apart from losing his parents at a young age, one of his biggest traumas was surviving a war.
Back then, Sebastian was exposed to the cruelty of war at a young age.
During wartime, everywhere is thrown into chaos, parents get separated from their children, siblings get separated from siblings, death becomes a common thing and the only thing dominating people’s minds then is survival.
During wartime, people lose all they have, and to make up for it and survive, they no longer care how it is done so long as they can survive.
In wartime, if people are escaping and you lost your car, if you find your neighbor in his car already leaving, you will feel the urge to do anything to join the ride and if possible, take the car by force.
This was the exact scenario that was happening here.
Due to the Orca Revolution, beast clans and rural settlements were destroyed, annihilated, and displaced with nothing to survive with.
Having lost all that they have including all their warships, these survivors were helpless and desperate.
To make up for the losses and survive, they were ready to do anything.
Sebastian finally understood the source of the lights that occasionally shone from different regions here after he and his army just got here.
Like in the example of Thong and the Sabertooth Fish, all those lights were indications of ongoing battles. The Orca Revolution already rattled this Great Sea so much that everywhere was now a battlefield.
Sebastian’s eyes widened at this discovery. If he was correct, then nowhere here was safe since this was just a giant super battlefield.
As for the reason why all these desperate predators left their battles and came for him, it was simple.
Warships were one of the strongest, most strategic, and most effective means to wage war. Most of these predators already lost their warships, suddenly seeing someone that had, they were all eager to snatch it.
This was the reason why they all came for the Sebastian Warriors Army.
After coming to this conclusion, the look that Sebastian gave the rampaging mutated beasts changed. He felt frustrated that he was the one being targeted, but he respected the fact that they did all these just to survive and keep living.
He respected them did not mean that he was going to pity them though.
Sebastian fell into another dilemma on how to react to this situation. His common sense told him to escape with his army since even more predators were surging here as he thought.
This was the most logical decision to take, but would it bring any meaningful result? Once Sebastian asked this question, he deflated.
All his life in Oceania had been in the Green Mist Sea, this was his first time in the Dungeon of Souls. He knew no place here, he had no map of it, and he didn’t know the dangers that lurked here either.
Literally, he was a blind man here.
Even if he escaped with his army now, they would eventually be embroiled in another meaningless battle since this Great Sea itself already turned into a giant battlefield due to the actions of the Killer Whales.
There was no escaping this, Sebastian and his army had to face it head-on.
Besides, escaping would look like a sign of weakness to these predators which would most likely make them go in pursuit. The real way to escape this was to face it head-on and intimidate these beasts!
As Sebastian thought of this, his heart started racing.
At his current stage, the only thing that could stop him was the Red tier and above. Even with those, he could improvise and deal astonishing damage.
The current stampede of mutated beasts had no Red tier predator which was expected. Red tier predators were not cabbages that could be seen everywhere on the streets, they were predators that were close to the pinnacle already.
In Sebastian’s calculations, there was less than a 0.00000001% that a Black tier predator would pass by here and less than a 0.01% that a Red tier predator would pass by which meant that the intimidation tactic would most likely work.
Once Sebastian finalized this plan in his mind, he acted.
"Captain Omega, this is my plan!"
"Get ready, because we are about to hit these beasts hard!"
