Gold only becomes shiny after passing through the heat of the furnace, Sebastian had a deeper understanding of this quote today.
After all the suffering that he had suffered that seemed to him like lifetimes, he was already feeling extreme resentment at the Golden Crow, but on seeing the line of system notifications, his mood experienced a 360-degree turn.
"Damn man, this feels so good!"
Out of the blue, Sebastian suddenly got so many attribute increases that he originally had to sweat to get, ecstasy was not enough to describe how he felt.
Sebastian was still astonished by all that just happened. The Golden Crow moved so fast without giving him any explanation that everything that just happened still felt like an incomprehensible dream to him.

Once Sebastian looked inside his mind, he saw the diminished version of the Golden Crow now lying wearily in a corner of his mind.
The sight made all of Sebastian’s queries evaporate away like the wind.
For some reason, as he looked at the Golden Crow, he experienced a feeling that he had not experienced in a long time since transmigrating into Oceania.
As he stared, Sebastian felt the need to care for the Golden Crow sprouting from the depths of his heart and he could not stop it.
The last time that Sebastian felt this way was when he last met his shark pets back on earth, at least until he turned one of them into a new breed of shark which seemed to infuriate them into biting him into oblivion.
Back then, though they were Great White Sharks which most humans saw as dangerous beasts that were best left in their habitat, Sebastian felt otherwise.
In that short time, he felt a normal feeling that transpired between a master and his pet. He sincerely cared for them, he loved them, he saw himself as a father who needed to care for their daily needs then.
Now, Sebastian was experiencing the same feeling again.
He finally understood, bonding with the Celestial Beast did not make them equal, instead, the relationship was akin to that of a master and a pet where the majestic Celestial Beast was reduced to the role of a pet.
When Sebastian recalled the tale of Oceania being a weapon and the primordial origin magic being its consciousness, he finally understood the reason for this and why it was necessary.
He didn’t feel like Goldie was his pet though, at this moment, on looking at the weary form of the Golden Crow, Sebastian felt like he was looking at his kid.
He already gave the Crow a name. "You’ll be called Goldie, you like it?"
"Caw!" "Caw!"
Sebastian smiled as his mind extended a part of its consciousness to pet the Golden Crow. A few pats later, Goldie fell asleep.
This was when Sebastian finally felt the effects of the exertion settling in. Goldie was not the only one who was left weary after everything, enduring so much pain for such a long time was bound to leave him exhausted.
Sebastian could not resist it; his consciousness fell into the blank world of sleep where everything was cozy and nice.

After what seemed like an eternity, Sebastian finally woke up again feeling refreshed and revitalized.
This time, he did not wake up in his mind form, he finally woke up for real, in his real body. After what felt like a mental adventure that took him away from his body for centuries, he was finally back, he felt good.

Once Sebastian activated this skill, he was able to see everywhere around him. Once he swept everywhere with it, the first thing that he discovered was that the Celestial Beasts were already back inside the honeycomb-shaped structure.
1 of the Mana Lords that he came here with was asleep, while Monolith, the Mana Lord that he defeated was now silent, focusing inside his mind.
Though Monolith was disqualified in the strength test after being eliminated by Sebastian, he was the best Mana Lord of this generation and finished 4th in the speed test, only slightly behind the Mana Lord who won 3rd place.
In the strength test, though he did not qualify, his points tally before losing to Sebastian still firmly put him in 2nd place.
So, even though he was not called among the final 3 winners, he was chosen among the 6 for the acknowledgment test as an honorary performer.
With just one look, Sebastian confirmed that both Monolith and the Mana Lord who was still asleep managed to get a Celestial Beast to acknowledge them.
The other 3 were the unlucky ones in this test, the crestfallen looks on the 3 Mana Lords left Sebastian pitying them but he was too preoccupied with other things at the moment to care deeply about them.
Looking at Monolith, Sebastian knew that this Mana Lord already changed. Clearly, he enjoyed the same benefits from the bond as he did.
He didn’t know how much stronger Monolith was now, but Sebastian guessed that if he fought against this version of Monolith in his old form in the previous battle, the outcome would have most likely been a draw.
This was how beneficial the effects of the bond with a Celestial Beast were.
Thinking of all this, Sebastian became hyped up for how his current system status would look and he did not hesitate to demand it from his system.

Amid his excitement as a feeling of ecstasy spread through his body, Sebastian calmed down again as his system sent him another notification.
