Chapter 328: Chapter 169: Have Them Surrounded
"Wh-where’s our child?"
Hu Yue’e froze for a moment.
"Weren’t they just with you?"
The two of them quickly looked down for their child, only to see the little one marching huffily out from the Feng Family Manor crowd. He walked up to his parents and stomped on each of their feet.
Feng Jihen sighed in relief, picking up the child and placing them in Hu Yue’e’s arms.
Hu Yue’e also breathed a sigh of relief and said to Feng Jihen:
"Go. If you die, I’ll wait until Tong’er turns eighteen, and then I will follow you.
"You’ll just have to wait for me on the Naihe Bridge for a dozen years or so."
"Alright. When the time comes, even if they try to chase me away, I won’t leave."
Feng Jihen smiled, then strode over to Fang Shuwen’s side.
"Brother, I’m here to help you!"
Fang Shuwen gave Feng Jihen a puzzled look.
"Help me with what?"
"Help you kill these villains!"
Feng Jihen’s spirits were high. Even though he felt he would surely die today, he showed no fear. On the contrary, his heroic spirit soared.
Fang Shuwen had no idea why this man was suddenly acting so heroic for no apparent reason.
’Is he trying to steal my kills with such confidence?’
He shook his head, finding it hard to understand.
Feng Jihen then asked:
"Brother, when do we strike?"
"We’ll wait for them to get ready."
Fang Shuwen stood with his hands clasped behind his back, sensing more and more people gathering around.
This was different from Anyue City. There weren’t as many people, and they weren’t as mixed, so Fang Shuwen didn’t plan on letting any of them go.
He planned to let them all gather properly, then kill every single one.
But at this thought, he looked over at Feng Jihen.
"If you want to help me, you should have your Feng Family Manor people guard the perimeter. If anyone tries to escape, help stop them."
Feng Jihen nodded repeatedly.
"Alright, if they try to run, I... huh?"
As he spoke, he felt that something wasn’t right.
He couldn’t help but look at Fang Shuwen.
"Brother, didn’t you get that backward?"
"No."
"...But, if anyone’s going to be running, shouldn’t it be us?"
"Why would we run?"
Fang Shuwen frowned, feeling that communicating with Feng Jihen was a bit of a struggle.
"Haven’t you noticed? I’ve already surrounded them."
This conversation was going nowhere.
Feng Jihen felt he couldn’t continue the conversation, truly at a loss for how to respond.
"That should be about it. Everyone who’s coming is here. In short, don’t let them escape."
Fang Shuwen patted Feng Jihen on the shoulder.
’This is bad,’ Feng Jihen thought to himself. ’How can I not figure this out?’
’What exactly is wrong here?’
’When I had two hands, I still had ten fingers to count on. Now that I only have one, five fingers are even harder to calculate with.’
Just as Feng Jihen was wondering if there was something wrong with his brain, the Burning Heart Monster across from them, dressed in red Taoist robes, suddenly let out a cackle and began to speak.
"You are the..."
He had just spoken three words when his vision suddenly blurred.
Fang Shuwen was gone!
He subconsciously tried to find him, but suddenly felt a fierce gust of wind right in front of his face.
His eyes flew wide as he tried to locate the attack.
The next moment, however, all he heard was a loud SLAP!
An immense force struck him directly in the face. With a WHOOSH, his entire body began to spin in place like a red pinwheel.
He spun a dozen times in the air before finally landing.
He opened his mouth to say something, but with a PUH, he spat out a mouthful of yellow teeth onto the ground.
"Who hit me..."
He uttered another three words, and suddenly, a shadow fell over him.
He hurriedly looked up, only to see a massive palm descending from the sky.
"How dare you!?"
In a fit of fury and shock, he raised both hands.
The instant the three palms met, a colossal force surged up his arms, causing the meridians within to explode in a rapid series of pops. That same force drove him, inch by inch, into the ground.
Only his large head remained above the surface.
The pressure in his chest forced blood to rush to his head. He then heard Fang Shuwen’s voice by his ear:
"Your laugh is really grating. Don’t laugh next time."
The Burning Heart Monster was so angry he nearly spat blood. He’d been laughing like that for over a decade!
This was the first time anyone had ever called his laugh grating.
He wanted to open his mouth and argue, but Fang Shuwen had already sent a kick flying.
Feng Jihen felt like his eyes were playing tricks on him.
First, in a blur, Fang Shuwen vanished.
Then, the Burning Heart Monster started spinning. The moment he stopped, Fang Shuwen slammed him into the ground.
Immediately after, his head was kicked clean off.
The Burning Heart Monster’s head, sparsely covered with a few scraggly hairs, went spinning through the air and flew directly in front of the Residual Snow Black Sword.
He caught it in his palm.
His eyes narrowed.
"Kill!"
Suddenly, a sharp cry rose from all directions.
The Blood Sea Ghost Lady’s figure abruptly shot backward, like a current of black water flowing into the sea.
At the same time, the disciples of the Seven Kills Hall struck.
In an instant, seven blades struck from seven different directions, aiming for Fang Shuwen’s vital points, while countless Hidden Weapons rained down upon him.
Fang Shuwen rolled his shoulders slightly. The next moment, he grabbed a man’s wrist, took a small step, and slammed his shoulder forward.
CRASH!!!
The man was instantly blown to pieces. The powerful shockwave sent the other six blades veering off course.
But Fang Shuwen continued to strike, sometimes with his fist, sometimes his claw, sometimes his palm, sometimes his finger...
A fist would shatter bones.
A claw would snap a neck.
A Palm Technique would erupt, causing sprays of blood mist to explode in succession.
As for a single finger point... that would cause a massive explosion.
In the space of just a few breaths, a hundred or so corpses had been strewn across the ground.
Yet they couldn’t even catch a glimpse of Fang Shuwen’s shadow.
One man was scanning his surroundings when his vision suddenly blurred. He looked up and saw Fang Shuwen right in front of him. Before he could react, a palm had already slammed down on his head.
SPLAT!
His head was driven straight into his torso. The bloated corpse took two more steps before collapsing to the ground.
Others turned toward the sound, but Fang Shuwen was already gone.
Only miserable wails could be heard everywhere.
"Th-this... this is... the Demon Evil God!?"
Watching Fang Shuwen reap lives with his every move, Feng Jihen, for the first time, truly understood the weight behind that Jianghu title.
