Chapter 9: Origin Awakening(2): From Trash to Nine Star Genius

A flaming, intense energy pierced the sky under the night.

The entire Veyrion Clan was alarmed. Maids, butlers, chefs, clan members—all turned their heads to the awakening ground, feeling the intense heat that scorched the air.

Those at the awakening ground were shocked. The energy caused waves that nearly sent them flying. His family was shocked, then smiled in joy.

The whole of Aethelgard felt the flaming beam of intense energy. It was sensed by everyone.

Kael’s awakening hadn’t been this strong.

Origin Elements, Origin Souls, Origin Thrones, and Origin Bloodlines are ranked from D to S grade. Special elements and others are called unranked grade, as some grow with their host and their power surpasses S-grade.

This was what they felt from Lucien’s awakening. It had surpassed S-Rank. And it was the origin fire element.

Lucien’s gaze was fixed on the crystal. Unlike the fiery energy others saw, he was looking at a different scene.

He didn’t know how he appeared here. A starry sky. Tiny stars surrounded him, glowing with different colors.

But the one that glowed most was a red flaming star. Its brightness outshone the others. While some were faint, others were barely a wisp.

The scene shattered, and he found himself back at the awakening ground, confused.

What was that?

What did it imply? 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

As he sank into thought, his awakening continued.

The flaming beam reduced. Within it, one could see the elemental beams of energy, but the flaming energy concealed them.

It died down, and the crystal shook more violently.

ROAR!

A draconic roar shattered the silence of the mansion, shaking buildings as a massive pressure descended from nowhere.

Everyone’s gaze was fixed on what appeared above the awakening crystal.

Mist surrounded the soul, concealing its features, leaving only its eyes.

But they knew what it was.

A Dragon Soul.

Even though they couldn’t determine which dragon race it was, the draconic pressure it emitted suggested its rank wasn’t low.

His parents weren’t surprised by this. Even Seraphina chuckled. Only his brother raised his eyebrows in surprise.

The dragon soul disappeared, and in its place, a being appeared.

All they saw were eyes filled with unknown energy. Lucien was surprised by this.

Everyone’s curiosity was piqued. They didn’t know what kind of soul it was.

The being slowly disappeared, and the crystal fell silent.

The silence baffled everyone until they saw a seed appearing above the crystal.

"Throne Seed!" someone roared from the crowd.

The elders of the clan began to congratulate David and Valyra. Awakening a throne seed signified that Lucien would reach the Throne Realm.

With his other talents, Lucien was a nine-star genius.

All congratulated him, but they didn’t know the scene was just beginning.

As the throne seed appeared, the sky of Aethelgard changed. Black clouds covered the entire continent, lightning sparking and thunder roaring.

Aethelgard shook. Everyone lost balance. It felt as if the world had been turned upside down.

David noticed it first. He knew Lucien’s throne seed was the cause.

He immediately concealed it. Any more of this would bring ill intent, even from within the clan.

His gaze shifted to his son, a smile on his face. As a father, he was happy for his son.

The seed slowly dispersed into nothing.

The crystal shook violently, and everyone watched as two veins materialized in the sky.

They all paused, watching in silence. Everyone was curious.

The appearance of these two veins signified that Lucien was awakening two bloodlines. Only when both veins fully materialized would the type of bloodline be revealed.

David and Valyra glanced at each other. Neither had expected he would awaken both his maternal and paternal bloodlines at the same time.

This would expose Valyra’s identity.

It was sudden, leaving them with no countermeasures. They could only leave it to fate.

Ding.

[Detecting the awakening of Host’s bloodline by external interference. Taking measures. Re-sealing Host’s bloodline.]

Lucien felt a powerful energy from inside himself that his body couldn’t contain. It was like pouring magma into an ordinary glass container. The magma would burn the glass to nothing.

At the last moment, the system prompt resounded, and his body calmed down.

Lucien was already drenched in sweat. Death had felt close for a moment.

The waiting crowd saw the veins begin to disappear at the last minute.

This baffled them.

What was happening?

His parents were relieved, albeit confused, by why the awakening had stopped.

---

Lucien’s awakening had spread throughout the clan. Everyone knew their second young master was no longer trash. He was a nine-star genius.

Even though his bloodline hadn’t awakened, everyone judged that it wasn’t the right time. His frail body was too weak to control his bloodline for now.

Lucien was unaware of this. After the origin awakening, he came here straight.

The clan repository.

It was the library of the clan. Origin skills, Aethelgard history, histories of races, ancient texts—this was where they were stored.

This wasn’t his first time here, but he couldn’t go beyond the first level.

The clan repository had seven floors. From the outside, it looked like an ordinary building. But inside, its space was bigger than the mansion, built with rare materials that focused on space manipulation.

Lucien looked at the books on the first level. They contained history and information about everything one could want to find. And he had read them all. He was now like a walking encyclopedia.

He took a step forward and climbed the stairs to the second floor.

A barrier stood in the way, but with a token in hand, he passed through it and disappeared into the floor above.

Because he was unawakened, his parents hadn’t allowed him to go beyond the first floor, fearing unwanted consequences if Lucien cultivated the techniques here.

Lucien began going through the second floor. It contained different origin skills.

Attack skills. Defense skills. Cultivation skills (both Originat and body building). Soul skills...

He looked at them all. Then a thought came to his mind.

From the novels he had read, the stronger one’s cultivation technique, the stronger the foundation of one’s cultivation.

Ding.

[The Host does not need any cultivation technique. The Origin Anchor Physique can absorb Originat freely, converting it into experience points. Also, killing other races brings experience points.]

It was as if the system could hear his thoughts.

His lips curled into a smile. "Nice."
