Obsession: Lucien Veyrion, Returning to the Clan, Cultivation.

---

Lucien froze in his mother’s arms, looking at the system prompt.

His wife was a Dragon-Phoenix.

A creature born from dragon and phoenix, having the physical strength of a dragon, the domineering nature of a dragon, the nirvana of a phoenix, and the flight of a phoenix.

Only legends of them remained in Aethelgard. He had never expected he would see one.

And more or less, it was his wife.

This made him realize how powerful his wife’s background was. Or maybe her powers were still hidden.

"Seraphina told us that you can now cultivate."

Valyra held his cheek, disrupting his thoughts. Everyone’s gaze was on him.

"Yes, Mom," he muttered.

His parents heard this and laughed. Their bodies immediately felt relaxed.

"Hahaha, when and how did it happen?" his mom questioned.

They had tried all means for him to cultivate, but it all went to naught. They were gradually losing hope, thinking he couldn’t cultivate.

But now, hearing this news was like entering heaven.

"It was during the assassination. Feeling the intense danger, my body subconsciously became hot, yet my mind was refreshed. I realized I have a wisp of Originat in my body and can cultivate."

They didn’t distrust his words. They all nodded.

It seemed that at the nick of time, with his body sensing death, it burst out all of its potential and caused his body to start absorbing Originat.

"Oh yeah, Mom, speaking of Lisa..."

He didn’t finish his words before he felt massive killing intent in the room.

His mom, his dad, his brother, and Seraphina—their eyes were cold.

"It’s Dad’s fault. It seems the clan still has some spies, and I got a bit relaxed. You weren’t the only one attacked. Your brother was also attacked." David, his father, said coldly.

Lucien raised his eyebrows in surprise, his gaze on his brother. "You were attacked too."

Kael nodded. "It was an assassin that came for me. He underestimated my strength, so I finished him quickly."

Kael let out a chuckle.

Lucien chuckled too. He knew his brother’s strength. He was the most talented person in the Veyrion Clan in the last ten thousand years.

"Since you can cultivate now, you can go through the Origin Awakening Ceremony and know the talents you can awaken," his dad said.

Lucien almost smiled. The system had already shown him. But he listened anyway.

"There are four types of talents," his father continued. "Origin Elements first. Fire, Wind, Earth, Metal, Water, Thunder, Wood, Light, Dark. The original nine. Then special ones like Blood, Time, and others."

Fire. SS-Rank. Lucien’s lips twitched.

"Second are Origin Souls," David said. "Stronger than elements. Elemental Souls, Volkoid Souls, even sword souls or grass souls."

Hidden. But there.

"Third is the Origin Throne." His father’s voice grew serious. "A seed waiting to bloom. Anyone who awakens it is certain to reach the Throne Realm."

Throneheart Seed. Dormant, but waiting.

"Fourth is the Origin Bloodline," David finished. "The rarest. It can unlock everything else. Some cultivators awaken all four. Those are geniuses, rated from one star to nine."

Lucien glanced at his brother. Kael was likely a nine-star. Then he looked at his own hands. Dragon bloodline. Dormant. But real.

"Ok, Dad, Mom," he replied. Even knowing his talents from the system, he wanted to see the waves he would cause.

But first, he needed to confirm something as he appraised his parents.

Lucien raised his eyebrows in confusion. He had thought maybe because he had an obsession link with Seraphina that’s why he could see her obsession.

But from the looks of it, he could see everyone’s obsession.

"System, what’s wrong? Why can’t I see their cultivation realm, physique, even elemental affinity?"

Ding.

[Host, you are still a mortal. You can only see the detailed information of those that aren’t two realms higher than you.]

Lucien shook his head and looked at his mom.

Now he had confirmed she was from the Dragon Race, and he could see her obsession was returning to the clan.

He began to think what made his mother leave a clan and still unable to return.

He nestled deeper in her arms. Before, he was weak and protected; but now he would be the one to protect everyone.

It was a promise he made to himself.

---

Lucien stood before a gigantic gray crystal in an open ground. His parents surrounded him with the Nine Elders of the clan.

Hearing that Lucien could now cultivate made them curious whether it was true.

Everyone came to see whether he could remove the trash young master title branded on him.

Even being able to cultivate didn’t mean he could awaken a powerful talent.

This is what they came to watch.

Lucien took a deep breath, glancing behind to see the hopeful eyes of his loved ones.

He looked at the origin awakening crystal, calmly placing his hand on it.

His brother, Kael, had awakened their clan bloodline, a dual element dragon soul, also a throne seed with four origin elements.

This made him a nine-star genius, and the clan poured resources on him.

Now it was his turn. He wouldn’t admit it, but at that moment, he was envious of his brother.

But they are family.

He rested his palm on the crystal. It gave a soothing and refreshing feeling.

He felt a wave of energy entering his body.

Ding.

[Detecting an energy scanning Host’s body. Does Host want to block it? (Y/N)]

Lucien clicked no. It was time to shine.

The energy went throughout his entire body and returned to the crystal.

The crystal fell silent, then trembled violently.

A blinding light was released...
