Chapter 976: Chapter 976: Really Too Arrogant_1
The beautiful and gentle mother, hers was the warmest gaze she had ever seen in her life, yet that gaze never fell upon her.
They had to survive, the mother lived in the past, but she couldn’t.
So she struggled to live, even if everywhere she went, she was targeted, beaten until her head bled, yet still, she had to keep living and not just wait for that faithless man to have a change of heart.
In dreams, the mother’s eyes were full of disappointment, "Hannah, no matter what, he is your father. What can’t you forgive him for?"
That was the shackle upon her. She stood against a cliff face, striving to climb out from the abyss, but these shackles kept pulling her back into the endless darkness time and again.
Later, they also said,
— because he is your father.
The one who gave you life.
She didn’t refute, just silently looked down at her wounds, almost deep enough to see bone.
Yes, Father.
Waking from the dream, Hannah simply watched the pristine white ceiling quietly.
It was as if the bloodshed from the dream was receding, along with the bone-penetrating pain gradually fading away.
The room was very empty.
She draped on her clothes and walked onto the balcony.
The snowstorm had not yet stopped, and the outside world was a vast expanse of white.
Different from the dream, here there was no slaughter, and even though human hearts are unpredictable, compared to the past, this was a sanctuary.
Above the deep night sky, there were no stars or moon.
Yet, she could still discern the direction of that planet.
That was the direction her mother often gazed in, waiting a lifetime, but never did the man return before she died.
So, she passed that shackle onto her.
She said, "I want you to swear, swear never to betray or hurt your father, otherwise..."
Hannah chuckled softly, watching the fluttering snowflakes, choosing not to think anymore.
Ginny was sluggishly asleep but still managed to sit up next to Hannah with spirited effort.
The cold wind made her shiver uncontrollably, and the dog became much more alert.
"Master, are you missing home?"
As it spoke, it couldn’t help but yawn.
Hannah didn’t speak, only quietly watched the snow falling on the eaves, leaving only a dim light in the world, shining into people’s hearts.
There was no open and peaceful scene, only the restlessness of selfish desires.
Fortunately, blood is warm.
The cold wind made Ginny close her eyes tight, forcing her to move her feet with difficulty to shelter behind her owner, then she raised her voice and said, "Master, do you miss your family?"
Artificial intelligence doesn’t really grasp the concept of family, but it thought its owner might miss her relatives, right?
Perhaps?
In the cold wind, even the light seemed to be coated with a layer of chill, flickering dimly or brightly down, highlighting Hannah’s delicate and enchantingly beautiful face.
She slightly curved her lips, a smile rising in her eyes, yet it was as if floating on a cloud, leisurely carrying a sense of unreality.
"You also know about family?"
Ginny nodded, "Family means people who are related by blood, right?"
Hannah withdrew her gaze and walked inside, "Perhaps."
Ginny followed closely behind, "Master, did you know, lately the royal family has had it rough. Last time they had their eyebrows and hair shaved, this time the king’s underwear was stolen outright. They say that during the morning council, the ministers were guessing whether the king was wearing underwear or not today."
Ginny laughed first, stifling a giggle with her paw, but quickly turned indignant and waved her paw, "Master, don’t you think today’s thieves are too brazen, simply too much, stealing people’s underwear!"
