Chapter 851: Chapter 851: Keep Calm_1
"Arnold Simmons, nobody knows better than you what really happened to my parents’ car accident that year,"
he said, word by word, spitting out words as if they were tainted with blood, his eyes filled with restrained hatred.
His gaze was like that of a fierce wolf’s, emitting a ghostly green light.
Arnold Simmons’ expression remained indifferent; his hand slid into his pocket subconsciously searching for the cigarettes he hadn’t touched in a long time.
Finding nothing and seemingly recalling something, a hint of a smile curled at the corner of his lips, which turned into a mocking curve when he looked at Jimmy Simmons standing before him, "It seems that after all these years, you have not made any progress. You take what the media sensationalizes for the truth, but it’s nothing but speculation aimed at grabbing attention."
Jimmy Simmons let out a cold laugh, "You know full well whether it’s the truth."
Locking eyes with a pair of pupils somewhat similar to his own, Arnold Simmons calmly said, "You’re no longer a minor. You need to take responsibility for the words you speak and the actions you take."
The staff standing aside overheard the conversation between the uncle and nephew, each of them bowing their heads, none daring to comment.
This matter had long since become one that no one dared to speak of again.
Everyone knew that Jimmy Simmons would certainly cling to this incident upon his return because that car accident was indeed bizarre, but nobody expected him to confront Arnold Simmons so directly.
Though under someone’s roof, Jimmy Simmons, having lived a life of luxury as the Eldest Young Master for so many years, had a pride ingrained in his bones that he likely could never shed.
After the crowd dispersed, Hank Ward reminded Jimmy Simmons once more, "You need to keep your cool; you shouldn’t confront him now."
Jimmy Simmons did not say a word, turning his head to see Arnold Simmons suddenly changing direction and heading towards the tree.
There, a bright red sports car was parked.
The car window rolled down, revealing a face as radiant and exquisite as a rose; even the dazzling red lips were not overshadowed by the bright color of the sports car.
It was just unfortunate that before he could get a clear look, Arnold Simmons, who walked over to the car, blocked his view.
Jimmy Simmons’ heart was inexplicably tinged with a touch of melancholy, his fingers twitching and only when they touched the cold handrail did he snap back to reality.
As if he had fallen into a fantasy.
The two talked for a while.
It didn’t take long for Arnold Simmons to get into the sports car.
Had he not seen it with his own eyes, Jimmy Simmons would never have imagined that his uncle would have such a day.
"Interesting," Jimmy Simmons ran his fingers over the cold handrail and scoffed, "It seems the rumors are true, even the high and mighty ruler of the Simmons Family can’t resist a beautiful woman."
It appeared that the woman had some tricks up her sleeve to get involved with Arnold Simmons and stay by his side; he was actually looking forward to meeting her.
He instructed Hank Ward, "Find out about that woman."
Hank Ward nodded in agreement.
*
Night.
As Arnold Simmons closed the last document, he looked up to see Hannah standing at the door.
She had just taken a shower, wearing an overcoat over her body due to laziness, with her hair carelessly wiped and still dripping water, wetting a large patch of fabric on her chest.
Arnold Simmons took off his glasses, "Come here."
Hannah flashed a smile, holding the hairdryer in her hand as she pitter-pattered over, then sat down very naturally on the sofa beside him, extending the dryer towards him.
The hairdryer blew out warm air, and the man’s slender fingers ran through the girl’s soft black hair, his movements gentle and skillful as if he had done it hundreds of times.
A lamp beside the sofa cast a warm, yellow halo of light, falling over much of the man’s body, illuminating his brows and eyes with a focused and tender air.
Hannah leaned into the man’s embrace, her eyes closed, her face brimming with enjoyment.
She reached out and tugged at the man’s sleeve.
