Chapter 792: Chapter 792: Never Again
George Quach fell silent, no longer begging Hannah to spare his poor head.
The sound of rain softly fell, sliding off the eaves of the house, and finally splashed into a small puddle on the ground, causing tiny ripples.
"Sister, can I hug you?" Matthew Quach heart tightened.
After all, he’s still a child. Despite his strenuous efforts to suppress his emotions, his eyes were uncontrollably glazed with a layer of teary sheen. He lifted his head stubbornly, sniffed a little.
No tears fell.
But his eyes were red.
Hannah spread her arms towards him, and he rushed straight into them.
"Crying?"
"No way."
Hannah stopped teasing him, which oddly enough made Matthew uncomfortable.
"Will we still see each other in the future?"
Hannah said, "Of course, you can see me on TV every day."
Matthew lifted his head, a little angry, "Hannah Winter, can’t you comfort me?"
Such an unfeeling adult!
She still teased him even when he was so upset!
Hannah compromised, "Okay, okay, young Matthew Quach, don’t cry. Study hard after you go home, strive to improve every day. I promise I will remember to give you a Scholastic Assessment Test every year."
"Hannah Winter, are you a devil?" The corners of Matthew’s mouth fell in an instant, he emphasized coldly, "I am only seven years old and in elementary school."
Hannah was puzzled, "Oh, don’t elementary schools have SATs? I’ve heard that junior high schools already have them, if not, let’s start preparing now, let’s take the strategy of focusing heavily on our studies."
Matthew didn’t want to talk.
If he didn’t think about their imminent parting, he would definitely turn around and walk away!
Jack Stewart came out of the house, originally intending to ask Hannah if there was anything she still needed, but seeing both of them looking like this, he closed his mouth and retreated back into the room.
He didn’t expect Hannah to get along so well with Matthew.
When the show started, he was worried about whether these two would end up fighting, especially since Matthew, this kid, was pretty "absurd."
For the section where Matthew mocked Owen Hanson, George Quach didn’t even edit it and aired it directly. Now the whole internet is ridiculing Owen Hanson for trying to take advantage of Hannah’s fame.
Before getting into the car, Jack Stewart asked, "Have you checked if you left anything behind?"
Hannah looked back into the courtyard.
The pile of firewood in the corner had been moved away and used as fuel. The dog hole that had been cleared out was also blocked again. This time, it was sealed even more firmly, with bricks and cement.
Perhaps... it will never be opened again.
Hannah retracted her gaze, and said lightly, "Let’s go."
Jack Stewart didn’t say anything more.
When the car door closed, it felt as if they were separating two worlds.
"Hannah..."
Vincent came out from a corner, wearing his cleanest clothes. He didn’t know how to style his hair, half of his face was covered by it, but he had washed it very thoroughly.
He opened his mouth, but his voice was incredibly hoarse, as if it was being squeezed out from his throat.
The gentle breeze blew, it felt like humid moisture from the rain, finally falling onto the ground with the wind.
Broken to pieces.
"Hannah!"
This shout seemed to use up all his strength, the sour feeling spread throughout his body. It felt as if his heart was squeezed tightly, even his breath smelled of blood.
Tears fell, one after another, just like the endless drizzle.
Hannah’s gaze paused for a moment. Facing Jack Stewart’s look from the front seat, she finally said, "Let’s drive."
Her voice was colored with profound exhaustion.
The car started.
But Vincent, like a madman, chased after it, shouting that name over and over.
Hoping for her to turn around and look at him one more time.
