Chapter 786: Chapter 786: Eating Melon

"There’s not much we can do about it. In their fans’ eyes, it seems like the entire world is against their idol." Hayes Edwards paused, looking at Hannah. "But even his fans probably couldn’t beat yours in rants. Plus, there’s Best Actor Qualls—chances are, people would even laugh at them for looking for trouble."

Hannah laughed lightly, her voice soft. "You seem to know a lot."

"Of course, I do." Hayes Edwards suddenly leaned over, lowering his voice, "To tell you the truth, I’ve been keeping up with all the drama around you recently."

Hannah looked at him, "Like what?"

Hayes Edwards looked around cautiously, "Like the rumors online saying that you have a secret backer."

He laughed heartily then said, "Sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it? How could you possibly have a backer? It’s-"

"They got that right though." Hannah suddenly interrupted.

"What did you say?" Hayes Edwards looked stunned.

Hannah calmly affirmed, "I do have a backer."

Still in disbelief, Hayes Edwards retorted, "If you had a backer, you wouldn’t have been voted off at that time, would you?"

Who would let their beneficiary struggle so much they get kicked off?

Even saying it out loud sounds ridiculous.

After all, it takes a fair amount of skill to be a backer these days.

Hannah took out a mirror to freshen up her makeup, the color on her lips a few shades lighter than before. "So you think the vote-swapping incident was exposed due to some sort of divine justice, that evil doesn’t overcome good?"

She turned to face him, her lips tinted with a dewy red, creating a soft smile. Her eyes were full of sincerity.

Evil doesn’t overcome good was true indeed, but the full truth of a situation was usually written by the victor.

Perhaps all justice will prevail, however, the time can be quite long—hundreds to thousands of years.

"Hannah Winter, are you serious?" is what Hayes Edwards managed to say, his playful grin fading.

He won’t deny that he was shocked.

Hannah responded nonchalantly, "Why would I lie to you?"

Hayes Edwards lowered his head, touching his chest where her words felt like a blow. As he raised his head to meet her eyes again-

They were as captivating as jewels, mesmerizing, leaving you lost.

He inwardly chastised himself, a grin resurfacing on his face. He playfully nudged Hannah’s shoulder, "You had these connections and didn’t tell me! Do you still consider me your good friend or not?"

As Hannah got up and started walking ahead, Hayes Edwards followed her, his head covered with a near-white towel. With a sideway glance at him, she hinted a laugh, "Are you interested?"

Hayes Edwards rubbed his head, "Are you offering?"

Hannah turned her head and snorted, "Obviously not."

"Wow, that’s bossy." Hayes Edwards pouted, "Just don’t come crying to me when you get abandoned."

"Well, you’re probably never going to see that day."

She tucked her lips into a brilliant smile. To the viewing Hayes Edwards, it could have outshone the sun itself.

Too dazzling when directly viewed, hard to resist when hidden.

Hannah Winter, if I hadn’t shown up, the internet could have speculated an entire romance novel from your interactions with Jackie Qualls and Louis Snyder."

He spoke in a muffled tone, looking at the beaming character before him. How frustrating!

Hannah grabbed herself a juice with a smirk, showcasing her interest. "Oh? Do tell."

Even if Hayes Edwards didn’t mention it, Hannah could guess the general sentiment of the story.

What he didn’t expect was that he couldn’t escape becoming a trending topic himself.

The show featured three popular male celebrities, two of whom had previously been linked to Hannah.
