Chapter 750: Chapter 750: Write Off in One Stroke

It’s a pity that despite craning their neck and looking around several times, they couldn’t see anyone. It’s not surprising they blamed it on the exaggeration of others. After all, where in the world can one find a person so beautiful that they captivate at first glance?

They returned home, disheartened.

As the drink slips into the glass, under the reflection of the light, there’s a moment when it looks as thick as blood.

Even when a tall figure appears before her, Hannah doesn’t lift her head, but lazily leans her head, her gaze focused on the red wine in the glass.

George River remains silent for a long while. When he finally speaks, his voice is hoarse and gravelly, "Hannah."

She raises her head, but her gaze lands on the fountain in the courtyard outside the window. The wine glass gently sways, and the fingers pinching the glass are as delicate as scallions, seeming to have been dyed with the cold of the wine glass.

Even without looking, Hannah could feel the man’s eyes on her, filled with a mixture of intense emotions.

There’s unwillingness, regret, and the love he’s always been too afraid to confront.

She raises a finger, lightly tapping the table, a playful smile in her eyes, "Is there something you need, Mr. River?"

Her words were distant and cold, without any attempt to hide.

George River only smiles lightly, sitting opposite of Hannah. His gaze never leaves her snowy face, "I called you today."

Hannah did not understand.

George River added, "A man answered the phone, he..."

Probably remembering something, George River frowned, his expression somewhat unpleasant.

Hannah caught on and slid her damp fingers lightly across the table, unable to hide her laughter in her voice, "Oh, it was you. I thought it was another crazy fan."

When she laughs, her brows wrinkled like blooming flowers, full of charm.

The scene overlapped with a dream. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

George River came back to his senses, loosened the tie around his neck, his voice somewhat demanding, "Who’s that man?"

Hannah glanced at him, raising her glass for a sip of red wine. Perhaps because of the rich wine stained her already red lips, which made her look more stunning. She spoke lazily, "He’s my agent."

They sat across a long marble table, between them a noticeable distance.

Hannah propped her head with one hand, and her loose black hair naturally fell around her neck, revealing a long earring that hung from her white earlobe.

She covered her mouth and giggled, "Mr. River, you really are funny. Not only are you jealous of your own uncle, but are now also jealous of my agent?"

George River’s eyes darken, "You’d better replace that agent."

Hannah seemed unhappy, "I don’t think it’s up to Mr. River to instruct me about my people, right?"

George River reached out and took the glass of red wine from Hannah, emptying it in one gulp. His gaze remained fixed on her, "Hannah Winter, come back to Prideful, I’ll give you the best treatment, and prop you up to the position of best actress."

He had decided.

If he could not forget her, then he would keep her by his side.

Hearing this again, Hannah raised her eyebrows slightly and nodded, "That’s a tempting offer."

George River’s gaze was unwavering, "Arnold Simmons is dead, I can overlook your past with him."

The room’s lighting, at some unknown point, had darkened again. It was as if the corners had been covered with a layer of black gauze. If one didn’t look closely, everything seemed a bit dreamy and unrealistic.

The man’s silhouette cast a large dark shadow behind him. His face also revealed some loneliness that it didn’t have during his usual arrogant days. He no longer appeared as capricious as before, but was enveloped in fatigue.
