Chapter 738: Chapter 738: Knowing Nothing at All
Jackie Qualls’s gaze lingered between her eyes for a moment, seemingly perceving something amiss; his vector turned somewhat distant, merely nodding his head as a response.
The smile on Tiffany Lynch’s face remained unchanged. It seemed that she wasn’t heartbroken by the man’s coldness; instead, she cheerfully greeted the shy followers behind her, "Jackie, since the end of the show, we haven’t been able to see you. As our mentor, our progress today is all thanks to your initial help."
Sunny Lee and the others stepped forward.
Even during the show, they didn’t have a chance for such close contact with the film emperor. Gazing so closely now, they felt somewhat embarrassed.
Jackie Qualls’s attitude remained somewhat cold, "Your success today isn’t because of me."
Underneath his words, the implications were clear to all.
But each person had different thoughts.
Those who voted excessively should "thank" the company.
But all Sunny Lee could think of was one person - Hannah.
Her face was a bit pale, possibly out of guilt.
When she heard what people around her said, she couldn’t help but wonder if it was because Hannah became so popular that she overshadowed everyone else’s shine.
If it weren’t for Hannah, perhaps everyone would see her too? And him... would he give her a second glance?
Thinking so, Sunny Lee couldn’t help but gaze at the man standing in front of her. Seeing his indifferent demeanour, she felt a total sense of desolation.
When she was with Hannah, she used to see Mr.Qualls all the time. He always appeared refined and gentlemanly, like a celestial descended from the screen, it was almost impossible not to be moved by him.
Regrettably, such a gentle smile from Mr.Qualls was only reserved for Hannah. How could he ever notice her?
Thinking so, she lowered her head again, her smile hinted at bitterness.
Jackie Qualls seemed not to notice the unusual gazes around him, "Where’s Hannah?"
Finally, a hint of stiffness appeared on Tiffany Lynch’s face. However, her voice remained gentle, "Manager Gordon kept her back. She’s probably still on the stage."
"Hmm, thanks."
Jackie Qualls turned around to head towards the stage; the staff, not daring to delay, quickly led the way.
Tiffany Lynch silently watched as Jackie Qualls walked away. A trace of cold mockery slipped passed her lips, her eyes reflecting a strange, twisted look.
Hannah Winter, you are indeed popular.
Heather Harrison couldn’t help but ask, "Tiffany, weren’t you and Mr.Qualls quite close before? Why are you acting like complete strangers now?"
It might be her penchant for drama that prodded.
Upon receiving a cold gaze from Tiffany, she retorted, "What does that have to do with you?"
She then turned around and entered her room.
Heather Harrison’s face stiffened as she stood, "I was just casually asking."
Ginny nudged a dazed Sunny Lee, pretending to be friendly, "Sunny, you were close with Hannah Winter before. Did she ever tell you about her relationship with the film emperor?"
Sunny Lee, biting her lip and looking troubled, shook her head, "No."
Heather frowned and glared at Sunny Lee, "You don’t seem to know anything. Did Hannah truly consider you a friend? Why wouldn’t she tell you anything?"
Sunny Lee couldn’t answer, she could only shake her head, saying she didn’t know.
Ginny immediately let go of Sunny Lee’s hand, turned and held Heather’s hand, her attitude growing cold, "Nevermind, let’s go inside first."
The two of them directly entered the room.
