Chapter 736: Chapter 736: What Do You See
The breeze wafted by, bringing a warm, sweet scent.
Everything was at its most wonderful state.
But dreams are fragile. Upon opening his eyes, all was simply an illusion of beauty.
George River sat in his car, eyes tightly shut, continuously recalling the past he despised. However, his heart felt hollow, filled only with numbness and pain.
That night, the sky was dark, the lights dim, so dim it could almost blind you. And yet everything seemed exceptionally clear.
Everything seemed to fall into place. As he held her warm, soft body, his thoughts were filled with only one person—Hannah.
When those two words left his mouth, he saw shock and humiliation in her eyes. But within them, he also saw his infatuation and love reflected.
It was as if he was facing the depths of his own heart that he dared not confront.
Without a second thought, he turned and walked away, not caring about the plea behind him.
That night, he mistook the woman he had deeply loved for someone else, like unveiling a secret he had kept hidden for many years, setting his long-held obsession on fire.
Once he sobered, he felt he had wronged Tiffany Lynch, and made amends by having a sponsorship contract sent to her. This was the best solution he could think of.
Strangely, George River’s method of compensation trampled on Tiffany Lynch’s pride. Making her feel no different from those women who would sleep for money.
She despised it, yet reluctantly had to accept it.
George River wasn’t oblivious to this. But by the time he thought to recall the contract, he received a message from his assistant.
Tiffany Lynch had accepted it.
At that moment, he found it rather amusing.
The woman he had loved for so many years, the one he didn’t hesitate to hurt another girl for, turn out to be...
George River lowered his head, laughing scornfully once again. He tightly clenched his cell phone, eyes resting on a familiar number.
To avoid Hannah’s persistent calling, George River had changed his number, but almost as if possessed, he had saved her number.
The call connected, but it was a while before it was picked up on the other end.
To his surprise, it wasn’t the familiar tender feminine voice that answered, but a somewhat unfamiliar male voice.
"Who is this?"
George River was silent.
On the other end, Jack Stewart found it odd that there was no response from the caller. Seeing that the number was unfamiliar, he couldn’t help but urge, "What’s up?"
George River spoke, his continued drinking had made his voice hoarse, "Where’s Hannah?"
"Rehearsal." Jack Stewart responded without thinking, quickly realizing with a tinge of anger, "Who the hell are you? Private fans are becoming so brazen now? Dare to call again and I’ll hunt you down!"
Despite Jack Stewart’s anger, the call was hung up.
Just as Hannah was about to come off stage, she saw Jack Stewart’s visibly annoyed at her cellphone.
She approached him, "What are you doing?"
Jack Stewart was still engrossed with the phone, "A private fan just called to bother you, I’m blocking him. I’ll see if I can track anything, to make an example out of him!"
Hannah found it amusing and approached with a bottle of water, "So, what have you found?"
She had just come down from the stage, and for convenience’s sake, was only dressed in a short-sleeved top and shorts.
