Chapter 727: Chapter 727: The Right to Choose
Jack Stewart froze for a moment, hurriedly pushing away Hannah’s head, pretending to straighten his clothes, "What nonsense are you talking about? If not for your career, I don’t know in whose arms I’d be in by now."
Hannah heaved a sigh, leaning in to hug his arm like before, "Yeah, it’s all my fault. If I get the chance, I’ll definitely introduce you to some handsome guys."
She smiled charmingly, her eyes brimming with vivacity, and her faint scent airborne like a cloud, impossible to ignore.
Jack licked his lips, trying to push her away but couldn’t, "You better keep your word."
"Of course." Hannah nodded, standing upright.
She saw Lucy Taylor waving from a distance and threw a quick phrase before scurrying over.
Jack looked down at his arm, shook his head, and murmured, "Ungrateful."
*
Lucy Taylor was holding onto Sunny Lee’s arm, her expression and tone becoming increasingly stern, "Sunny Lee, if you have something to say, say it clearly. I hate it when people beat around the bush. Be direct."
As Hannah walked by, she saw the tug of war between them and asked, "What’s the matter?"
Seeing Hannah, Lucy Taylor’s expression eased a bit. She let go of Sunny’s hand, but still in a huff, she said, "You ask her. She’s been acting strange lately."
Sunny Lee bit her lip and looked at Hannah with reddening eyes but quickly lowered her head without uttering a word.
Lucy Taylor rolled her eyes, "It’s always like this. People might think I did something to you."
Sunny Lee kept silent, just staring at her feet, her hands tightly clutching her clothes.
The atmosphere turned awkward, tension hanging in the air.
Hannah grabbed two gift boxes and gently shook them, "Presents, I brought them for you. Want it?"
Lucy Taylor was instantly distracted, muttering, "It’s my honor to receive a gift from a superstar like you."
She made a jokey comment, her eyes gleaming with happiness. She concealed her smile, but didn’t hesitate to accept the gift.
Hannah then turned to the silent Sunny, "This one is for you. Don’t you want it?"
Sunny lifted her head, her lips marked by tooth indentations. She looked at Hannah, her eyes filled with complexity, yet her hands remained still.
Her gaze wandered occasionally in a different direction.
Hannah followed Sunny’s gaze and saw Tiffany Lynch standing among the crowd, elegantly dressed, her hair cascading down.
She was wearing an artificially gentle smile, waving at Hannah.
So typical of her.
Hannah’s eyes glowed with a faint hint of amusement, laced with a haze of malice.
She raised her hand in acknowledgment.
Each encounter felt like a new surprise, each more intriguing than the previous one.
It’s just a pity that some things, taken to their extreme, tip into madness.
Hannah withdrew her gaze. Her face held no change, just stared at Sunny, "Want to go over there?"
Sunny was taken aback, her eyes filled with surprise and a twinge of unnoticed struggle.
Hannah curved her lips slightly, "Everyone has the right to choose."
As Hannah stopped speaking, Sunny seemed to have made up her mind. She met her gaze, her voice trembling, "I’m sorry."
