Chapter 697: Chapter 697: Just Like Before

"...Those fans who say they like me today, will one day leave me. What they love is merely an image of me they’ve imagined. But I know I’m not like that,"

Hannah nodded, seemingly a little surprised. "You’ve indeed grown up, with a new understanding of yourself," she said.

Louis just smiled, eying Hannah’s hand hanging by her side. He couldn’t resist, carefully intertwining his fingers with hers.

The soft, cool delicacy of the touch travelled to his heart through his fingertips, carrying a heart-throbbing warmth. With cautious exploration in his eyes, the young lad spoke, "Hannah, I saw. You rejected Jackie Qualls. So, the other day you were lying to me, right?"

She didn’t have a boyfriend and had never been interested in the so-called mature men.

Hannah didn’t deny, simply saying: "I wasn’t lying. It’s true that I’m not with him."

There was a deeper smile in Louis’s eyes. He didn’t hear the real meaning in Hannah’s words, joy permeating his voice, "I knew it! How could Hannah ever like a mature man like Jackie Qualls?"

Hannah withdrew her hand, fixing the boy’s disheveled collar. Smiling radiantly, she retorted, "Mature men are not old, they are called mature. Besides, he is your senior, and you might cooperate with him in the future. It would be really awkward when you meet after talking about him behind his back, wouldn’t it?" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"I don’t want to cooperate with him," Louis frowned before flashing a smile the next second. He held Hannah’s hand tight, cradling it like a treasure in his palm, "I just want to be with Hannah."

Always averse to others touching him, this time, Louis initiated to place Hannah’s hand on his head, affectionately rubbing it like a pampered dog, "Hannah, can you always love me like you used to?"

In his eyes, only she mattered, not anyone else. They would always be together.

"You also said, that was in the past," Hannah withdrew her hand, her tone flippant as she added, "Anyway, I never liked you. What forever are we talking about?"

Her words were cold and heartless. Louis’s breath slowed, hiding the pain in his chest as he maintained his clean smile, "Can’t you just lie to me?"

Hannah looked at him before suddenly breaking into a chuckle, her radiant smile as beautiful as the blossoming spring flowers, "I love you, I love you to death."

Louis was stunned, his heart seemed to slow, his eyes fixed on Hannah’s sincere gaze. Just as he was about to respond, he found Hannah withdrawing her expression, addin

g casually, "Do you believe what I just said?"

He released his tightly held hands, yet the very next second, held tight again, the smile on his face delicate while his eyes had a persistent depth, "I believe everything Hannah says. I’ve taken the words you just said seriously."

I took your claim of loving me seriously.

If you say you love, then you can’t change it for this lifetime.

The young boy seemed trapped in his own world, stubborn and radical.

Hannah glanced at him and questioned curiously, "Louis, there was someone who truly loved and cared for you, but you didn’t like her. Why is that?""

You only value something when you lose it; this cliché seems to always ring true.

Louis remained silent, his fingers gradually tightening yet he couldn’t utter a single word.

He was a smart man. His experiences in childhood taught him what kind of mask to wear in front of which person would benefit him the most.
