Chapter 669: Chapter 669: Each Takes What They Need

Bang—

Before he could finish speaking, the wooden door half his height directly fell to the ground, stirring up a cloud of dust.

Matthew Quach lowered his head, muttering apologetically, "Sorry."

He hadn’t expected his luck to be so poor. Of the four options, he actually chose the worst one, and even gave an excuse for Hannah to ridicule Hilary Quin.

Even now, from a distance, he could hear Hilary Quin’s triumphant laughter, probably calling others to join her.

Hannah began to walk into the courtyard, "It doesn’t matter, I don’t really care. It’s just living somewhere, it just means more neighbors at night."

Matthew Quach followed her, looking up at her, curiosity in his eyes, "What neighbors?"

He was bewildered; this place was off the beaten track, their location was the most remote and aside from a few staff members, there was no one else.

Somehow, Matthew Quach was suddenly reminded of the shadow from last night.

He felt uneasy but didn’t want to alarm Hannah, decided not to mention it. He would just sleep less tonight.

Hannah stopped walking, a smile touched her lips, "We’re in the mountains, it’s not unusual for a few mice or snakes to run into the house at night. If we’re really hungry, we could catch them at night and at least we won’t starve during the day."

After she said that, her smile remained as brilliant as Bloomy’s.

The words she said made the staff nearby physically uncomfortable, probably thinking of something that almost made their breakfast come back up.

Unexpectedly, Matthew Quach looked unfazed, rather looking somewhat excited, "Your method isn’t bad, neither of us can cook, but we could build a fire and throw what we caught into it, at least we won’t starve. I used to—"

At this point, Matthew Quach suddenly stopped speaking.

He looked up to see Hannah. She had already covered her nose and pushed open the door, a hint of loss in her eyes, and he followed her inside.

The production team assigned tasks to all four groups which were related to today’s dinner.

The task was simple, find local resources. They had to pick herbs on the mountain behind them. They were given photographs, and someone had already inspected the mountain to ensure there was no danger before allowing them to go up.

Owen Hanson was snubbed by Hannah and was now trying to win over Hilary Quin. After all, Hilary Quin’s popularity wasn’t bad recently, pairing with her would provide more topics for conversation.

Hilary Quin thought for a while and didn’t refuse. Mainly, she didn’t want Hannah to overshadow her, "It’s fine if you want to work with me, but you have to ensure one thing. If there is any voting or team formation in the future, you must stand by my side."

Owen Hanson frowned, glancing at Hannah not far in front, just a glimpse of her delicate, porcelain side profile made him itch. However, he knew pleasing Hilary Quin was of utmost importance for now.

He smiled, his words more flattering, "Of course, I’ve wanted to meet Sister Hilary Quin for a long time. I even watched your show before coming here..."

All these were common words amongst artists, but Hilary Quin felt better on hearing them. There was only one thing she pointed out, "Don’t call me Sister Hilary Quin in front of the camera."

Although calling her ’sister’ demonstrated respect, it inevitably made her sound old.

Owen Hanson reacted quickly and immediately apologized, "Okay, from now on I will call you Hilary."

He purposefully moved a few steps closer.

Hilary Quin frowned but ultimately didn’t evade him.

After all, they each had their needs and were using each other. As long as both sides benefited, it didn’t matter.
