Chapter 656: Chapter 656: Eyes Can’t Lie
Matthew Quach stared at Owen Hanson for a few seconds, then shifted his gaze, murmuring lowly, "You’re lying, your eyes can’t deceive people."
The atmosphere became unbearably tense.
Owen Hanson truly wished he could bolt out the door and have this segment edited out during post-production.
Had he just been played by a child?
Could this really be a ploy plotted by his rivals?
Just after a painfully awkward minute, James Landon arrived as well.
He wore his usual attire, but due to his seniority, Owen Hanson showed him great respect.
The last to arrive was Hannah.
She was simply dressed in a white t-shirt and jeans, with a jacket draped over her arm. Her makeup was light. As soon as she entered, it seemed as though all the light in the room was reflected on her radiant and stunning face.
Owen Hanson was taken aback, it took him a while to regain his senses.
James Landon was the first to stand up and walk over. The two of them greeted each other warmly, chatting and laughing as old friends would do.
Owen Hanson stood to the side, not knowing how to join in the conversation.
Matthew Quach lifted his head for a glance then lowered it again, appearing as cold as ever, pursing his lips, deep in thought.
Phoebe Sherton was somewhat excited, tugging at her pink princess dress and couldn’t help but exclaim, "This sister is so pretty, can I be in the same group as her tomorrow? I love pretty sisters, it’s like she’s a princess."
As she spoke, Phoebe Sherton stole another glance at Hannah standing by the door.
The little plump pineapple-head by her side hummed discontentedly, "What good is being pretty? You can’t eat it, she might even steal my snacks."
Phoebe Sherton ignored her, turned to the aloof Matthew Quach and initiated the conversation, "Brother Matthew Quach, who do you want to be grouped with?"
The little girl blinked her eyes, appearing worried that someone would steal her beautiful sister.
Matthew Quach maintained his cold silence.
Phoebe Sherton was getting anxious, "Could you not fight with me for the pretty sister tomorrow?"
Matthew Quach glanced at her, his small suit making him look very formal yet carrying a hint of serious cuteness, "I don’t care about being in the same group with her."
He raised his head and looked in Hannah’s direction, his eyes somewhat resentful. As he said this, it was more like he was speaking to himself.
However, Phoebe Sherton was very delighted because no one would snatch her pretty sister.
So, could she play the princess and prince story with her pretty sister tonight?
The sister would be the princess, and she... she would be the little prince.
So far, of the three adults, the one who interacted best with the children was Owen Hanson, although no matter what, Matthew Quach’s disposition remained frosty.
However, when Owen Hanson sat next to Hannah, Matthew Quach suddenly stood up.
"Could you please move, I want to sit here, thank you."
He addressed Owen Hanson very politely.
Everyone was clearly puzzled as to why Matthew Quach suddenly wanted to change seats, especially to one next to Hannah.
Only Hannah glanced over, her eyes shining with amusement as she watched Matthew Quach puff out his chest and stand defiant.
His facial expression seemed to say "I won’t leave until you do", implying a readiness for a showdown.
Owen Hanson felt somewhat reluctant. He glanced at George Quach, who was behind the camera, fiddling with the equipment, oblivious to the situation on set.
Matthew Quach urged, "Big brother, does your reluctance to give up the seat mean you like the sister next to you?"
His words immediately made Owen Hanson’s face flush red. However, after the flush passed, he was left flustered, "No."
