Chapter 644: Chapter 644: So Creative

"Are you really thinking of going on that George Quach’s show? A chance that many would crave for?"

A producer that you have never heard of; what good show could he possibly create? Even if he, by some fluke, managed to become popular, how could he compete with national-level variety shows in terms of stability?

Hannah opened her eyes, eyes like melted snow on blooming flowers in spring, pure yet adorned with a hint of chill, "I think what George Quach said was quite good, very creative."

Teresa Gordon chuckled coldly, "He’s just a newbie in this field. What could he know? To put it bluntly, he’s attracted by your online buzz."

Hannah picked up the water cup on the table and took a small sip, "Aren’t all of the variety shows I am on attracted to my online buzz?"

Teresa Gordon couldn’t rebut this.

In this day and age, without online buzz, everything is in vain, especially for newcomers. Popularity is more effective than anything else.

Teresa Gordon coughed twice and stressed, "A national variety show versus a new one. Don’t you know how to choose?"

The former can at least guarantee ratings. As for the latter, not to mention there are no guarantees about ratings, it could become a complete waste of optimal exposure time.

Hannah curved her lips, her eyes gleaming with amusement, "Instead of being a supporting role in a national variety show, I’d rather be the lead in a new one. If nothing else, at least I won’t be scolded by veteran fans of the show. Manager Gordon, wouldn’t you say that’s right?"

Once a variety show becomes popular and acclaimed, the audience naturally grows to love the regular hosts, especially after following them for so many seasons.

Though it is true that the showrunners had to replace people because the original hosts decided not to renew their contract.

But the audience rarely thinks that way; they only interpret it as the showrunners bowing to online buzz. Regardless of who the newcomers are, they are destined to face criticism.

Hannah already has quite a few "haters". Although her public sentiment was decent because of the previous exposure of dirty secrets, should she join a popular national variety show, her public sentiment could undoubtedly plummet, even without her making any mistakes.

Considering the recent negative perception towards selected idols from the public, why risk provoking their ire at a time like this?

Teresa Gordon crossed her arms, pondered for a while and begrudgingly agreed with Hannah’s reasoning, "Even if you have these concerns, we can look for other more secure variety shows. But this George Quach..."

To put it bluntly, Teresa Gordon was still uncertain about George Quach.

Hannah glanced at the wall clock and stood up, "If I remember correctly, most of the variety shows during this period are either already in the middle of filming or they are waiting till the second half of the year. There is no more appropriate choice than this one."

In the end, Teresa Gordon reluctantly agreed, but made no absolute promises. She said she would meet with George Quach to discuss the terms and if they were favorable, she would consider.

Hannah didn’t make a big deal about it. After asking for a leave from Teresa Gordon for the evening, she phoned Jack Stewart to let him handle the follow-up matters.

She was only responsible for appearing on the show.

His subordinates were reporting on the recent activities of the Simmons Family, when suddenly Arnold Simmons asked, "What time is it now?"

The man was startled at first, but quickly glanced down at the clock and respectfully replied, "It’s almost eight o’clock."

The summer night always comes exceptionally late. Even at this time, there was still light in the sky, but it was obscured by layers of thick clouds, without wind, which made it feel even more stuffy.
