Chapter 607: Chapter 607: Don’t Meddle in Others’ Business

Someone caught her eye and motioned for Hannah to look at Jackie by her side.

Jackie was discussing a future movie with Richard Lee. Hearing the teasing from the crowd, he couldn’t help but look at Hannah beside him.

Although he was sitting next to her, there was almost another person’s distance between them.

Hearing this, Hannah turned her head and met Jackie’s line of vision, "There’s no need for him, I can manage myself."

These words were a bit of a dig at Jackie’s ego.

Everyone looked at him, yet he didn’t look offended. Instead, a smile appeared in his eyes, making him seem more approachable than usual. He was clearly focused on Hannah beside him.

His tone softened, "Alright, I know you’re capable. Just remember that you can count on me if you ever need help."

The crowd sensed something but did not speak. Nearby, Richard Lee even left his seat to give the young couple some space.

Hannah withdrew her gaze and dove back into the game. "You talk as if I’m sure to lose."

Jackie just shook his head, leaving her to her game but his eyes remained on her.

Had it been anyone else, the intense attention from Best Actor Qualls might have been unbearable. But Hannah casually continued playing her game.

Occasionally, Jackie felt an urge to help her, but Hannah always blocked his hand and gave him a glare. "Don’t meddle, I can handle it."

Even with Hannah’s terse tone, Jackie never lost his temper.

Some people started whispering upon seeing them like this.

They were surely gossiping about some secret between Hannah and Jackie.

After all, despite his courteous and gentle demeanor, Jackie was regarded by many as unapproachable. This was not only because of his status, but also due to his reserved personality.

And yet, Jackie, who few could get close to, seemed to have made an exception for Hannah, a recent entrant in the showbiz.

This made others jealous.

After several rounds, they switched the game.

The one no one ever tired of, Truth or Dare.

This game often brought out juicy secrets at the cast’s social gatherings. However, since everyone was part of the showbiz, they kept these revelations within the circle.

The turn came to Jackie.

Someone boldly asked, "Mr.Qualls, have you ever had real feelings for someone from the drama?"

The event quietened down instantly. Everyone, be it close or far, was watching.

Jackie sat tall in his chair, his facial expression remaining calm representing his gentle demeanor which combined with his previous indulgence of Hannah, helped everyone relax.

Everyone’s eyes couldn’t help but sweep back and forth between Hannah and Jackie, expecting an apparent answer.

Resting her cheek on her hand, Hannah lightly tapped on her nearby empty wine glass. She looked slightly tipsy.

Jackie’s gaze fell on her flushed face. A smile brewed in his eyes as he said, "Acting is acting, reality is reality, as an actor I always draw a clear line..."

With this, everyone seemed a bit disappointed.

However, they were soon riveted back by his following comment, "...but many a time, emotions are out of our control, so..."

"I need to use the restroom." Hannah suddenly got up, interrupting Jackie’s sentence. Everyone turned to look at her.

Assuming she had drunk too much before.
