Chapter 529: Chapter 529: Taking a Bath

A staff member continued, "Didn’t we officially announce that what’s her name... Hannah Winter from that talent show? I bet he went to see Hannah Winter and not some ’Best Actor’. Who doesn’t know the situation between these two...Eh, Louis, where are you going?"

Before she could finish her sentence, Louis had already hastily left.

His head seemed to be swarming with thousands of bees, buzzing incessantly and tirelessly, threatening to break his sanity.

Everything was in chaos.

He could only return to his room by sheer willpower alone.

The door was slammed shut, and he slumped down against it, torturing himself with visions of Hayes asking everyone with his phone whether he and Hannah made a good match.

Hayes was someone who didn’t care about consequences; he was a rebel by nature.

But he didn’t think he had done anything to disappoint his fans. He never secretly met with others, nor was he a scumbag who two-timed people. He didn’t have any bad habits. Even though he may not be perfect, he certainly wasn’t a terrible person.

He was better than many others. At least he was real.

He wasn’t ambitious about holding onto fans’ attention. He was brave enough to say in front of reporters that he wouldn’t stay single forever and if he ever had a girlfriend he would announce it immediately.

He respected both himself and his fans.

Fans would cry out in protest claiming they would stop being fans if their beloved star dated someone, but turned around and appreciated his honesty, which was better than those who cheat on their partners in secret.

Tearfully accepting the situation, all they could do was hope that their beloved star wouldn’t meet his true love too soon.

But Louis Snyder could never emulate this.

He couldn’t be like Hayes, free of worries, with so many fans who loved him unconditionally.

He could only pretend to be the person that everyone liked, enduring those nauseating stares and pesky paparazzi time and time again.

Hannah...

They hadn’t seen each other for a long time.

Why could Hayes just shamelessly meet her?

Why!

He picked up his phone, dialling that well-known number. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Someone answered. His expression eased a little despite knowing that the person on the other end could not see his friendly, harmless smile.

"Sister..."

"Who?"

Before he could finish, an unfamiliar male voice interrupted from the other end.

No, it wasn’t unfamiliar.

"If you don’t speak, I’ll hang up," Hayes said, glancing at the phone before he spoke.

His initially relaxed fist tightened again. Looking out the window at the darkening sky, Louis Snyder lost all his strength. "Where... is Hannah?"

Hayes, not noticing the emotional change on the other end of the line, paused before vaguely responding, "She’s... she’s taking a bath. If you need something, call back later."

Looking at his call being hung up, Louis’s previously forced obedient look was gone, replaced with a gradually cooling expression.

The room was dark and silent, filled with a chilling aura. The young man leaned against the door, looking at the moon in the horizon, whispering silently.

Sister.

Hayes, who had just hung up the phone with a guilty conscience, looked up to see Hannah Winter walking in, dressed in her costume.

His heart pounded, but he feigned calmness and randomly tossed the phone on the table, "Your phone fell on the floor earlier, I picked it up for you."

A futile attempt to cover up.

Hannah looked at her phone, a faint smile in her eyes, "Then I should thank you."

Hayes forced a smile and muttered, "No need to."
