Chapter 528: Chapter 528: What Was Said

Hayes Edwards clung to the door frame, "No, there’s still a crowd downstairs, are you going to feed me to the wolves? Hannah, I’m not going!"

He glanced over Jack Stewart to where Hannah was still sitting on the sofa.

Begging for help.

"Hannah, you said I could stay here."

Jack gave him a shove, "What Hannah? Hurry up and go. If you don’t want to go downstairs, just squat in the stairwell. It’s empty there."

Hayes accused, "You’re leaving me to die."

Jack nodded repeatedly, "Yes, I’m leaving you to die. Get back to where you came from. Hannah just joined the crew, I don’t want her to get caught up in any scandals."

Hayes spoke, "At least let me put on my hat and mask, okay?"

Wouldn’t it be a given for him to be photographed in his current state?

If he was caught outside Hannah’s room, Hannah would definitely be implicated as well.

Jack thought about it, indeed that made sense.

As he turned around to fetch the items for Hayes, the man who was already standing in the hall darted back into the room.

He sat down directly next to Hannah, stubbornly clinging to the sofa’s armrest, "Just for a while, I’ll leave as soon as my agent is here."

Jack couldn’t pull him away, and he put his hands on his hips in exasperation.

Finally, Hannah spoke, "Fine, let him stay a while. He can leave after everything quiets down."

Jack could only nod.

Hayes, finally at ease, shot Jack a provocative glance.

Jack was so mad he nearly drenched him with the water bottle on the table.

Hayes told Hannah he had taken a leave from the crew to see her...

Actually, that was a lie.

He had sneaked out. The atmosphere on set was stifling him. Despite his best efforts, he wasn’t able to get any positive results.

People were like that. If they lacked talent, they just lacked it. Efforts were of no use. He simply surrendered himself to their jokes and taunts, after all, he had to make a living.

Most importantly, he couldn’t stand Louis Snyder.

But everyone else on the set loved Louis, especially the director, who was never sparing in his praises of Louis in Hayes’s presence.

Perhaps, to everybody, Hayes Edwards was just a pretty-faced, incompetent idol who only got by with his fans’ support, while Louis was a sweet and harmless character, not to mention a pretty good actor, who gets bullied by that incompetent idol.

Hayes took off from the set on his own accord, leaving Brother King, his manager, to clean up his mess and apologize to everyone, especially the director.

When Louis arrived, he ran into Brother King leaving hurriedly, looking frantic.

He casually stopped a worker nearby to ask what was going on.

The worker shrugged, "It’s that Hayes Edwards again. Yesterday, he asked the director for time off, saying he wanted to visit another crew. Of course, the director did not agree. Then he came up with an excuse about wanting to consult with Best Actor Qualls from the other set. Who would believe that? Everyone knows that Hayes has the worst acting skills in the entire group, yet somehow he still has so many fans..."

The worker, lulled out of vigilance, started to rant in front of Louis. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

Louis’s face showed subtle signs of impatience, but his voice remained gentle, "So, Hayes Edwards isn’t on the set today?"

"Look at my big mouth, going on and on." The worker laughed, "Of course he’s not. He left early this morning. I heard the other set is not far from ours."
