Chapter 426: Chapter 426: No Loss

Ice clinked against the cup, a cool breeze wafting from her fingertips, slightly alleviating the stifling air surrounding them.

Tiffany Lynch’s anxiety intensified. Still, out of respect for the cameras around them, she lowered her voice, "Hannah Winter, don’t let success go to your head."

"Oh, I’m just worried about you," Hannah laughed brightly. Perhaps it was from the iced water she’d drunk, her voice carried a distinct chill, "I’m afraid you might faint from the heat. It would be embarrassing, wouldn’t it?"

Tiffany Lynch, huffing and puffing, replied scornfully despite her fury, "I used to think you truly loved George. Now I see you’re willing to do anything for money. How laughable."

How noble could someone be if they’re willing to play stand-in lover for money?

Once they started it, they would do it again. She had seen plenty of mistresses abandoned by their men, crying dramatically. But honestly, they were weeping not for the men they lost, but for the shattered dreams of a luxurious life.

But marrying into wealth wasn’t something one could achieve simply because they wished for it.

Especially not someone like Hannah Winter.

Hannah seemed unfazed by Tiffany Lynch’s words. She leisurely enjoyed the onstage performance, applauding from time to time. "Miss Lynch, do you know how much money George gave me when we broke up?"

Tiffany Lynch’s heart skipped a beat, "What do you mean?"

Adjusting her slightly disheveled red dress, Hannah casually informed Tiffany, "He paid Prideful Entertainment’s compensation of two hundred thousand. The fee for two years as his stand-in lover was five million. And upon our breakup, he gifted me a villa."

She spoke ambiguously, a teasing smile on her face, "So, on balance, within two years, I earned five million and a villa. Not bad at all."

With each sum Hannah mentioned, Tiffany Lynch turned a shade paler, "So what? George only wanted to cut all ties with you. You can’t seriously think giving you money means he loved you, right?"

Tiffany Lynch turned to the person beside her.

Her flamboyant red dress was too flashy, but it did not overshadow her natural beauty in the least; she was even more radiant, irresistible even in dim light where the spotlight did not shine. She could not be ignored.

Most of the audience was looking in their direction.

But Tiffany Lynch knew they were not looking at her, but at Hannah beside her.

Miss Lynch, do we really look alike?

Tiffany Lynch suddenly remembered Hannah’s previous words.

When she first saw Hannah’s photo, she recognized the familiar expression in Hannah’s eyes, and her sense of threat was nearly gone.

When she met Hannah in person, she found it even more laughable. She didn’t take her seriously.

But now...

"Miss Lynch, for people like you, five million isn’t that much, right?" Hannah spoke indifferently, turning to look at her.

Arrogance filled Tiffany Lynch’s eyes, and she replied instinctively, "Of course."

For people of their status, five million was merely pocket change. She remembered even her family’s decorative artifacts were worth more.

Though her family’s wealth was not what it used to be, they could still afford a paltry sum of five million. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

Hannah nodded, resting her head on her hand, and said no more.

For a billionaire president like George, five million was indeed a small sum. But to ordinary people, that same amount was a fortune that could last a lifetime.

George was able to offer this sum simply because in his eyes, that was what the original personality was worth.
