Chapter 321: Chapter 321: Known All Along

The end of the road led to George River, who was barely suppressing his rage.

He didn’t expect that Hannah’s mysterious financier would indeed turn out to be Arnold Simmons.

It was even harder for him to accept.

He stepped forward, seeing the two cozying up to each other was unbearable, causing even his voice to tremble, "What a coincidence to run into you here."

He intended for both of them to hear his sarcastic remark, but George’s gaze remained fixed on Hannah’s stunning smile.

Hannah pretended not to notice, wrapping her arm around the man next to her, and asked him, "Mr. Simmons, do you know each other?"

Arnold’s eyebrows raised slightly, meeting the playful look in the girl’s eyes.

If the girl wanted to play, Arnold would oblige. He responded indifferently, "Yes, he is a good friend of Jimmy, George River, the young master of the River Family."

The simple introduction only seemed to fuel the fire burning inside George. He sensed that Hannah was pretending not to know him, which only added to his mockery.

Looking at Hannah, his smile gradually cooled, and he turned his gaze to George, practically gritting his teeth, "Uncle Simmons, it’s been a long time." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

When George called Arnold, Uncle, it was mostly meant as a mocking gesture.

He thought Hannah would be surprised, but her face remained smiling, her eyes shining with laughter, even more charming, "So now you’re an uncle?"

Arnold lowered his head slightly, pushing back a stray lock of hair from the girl’s face, "Not close, just calling him by the family hierarchy."

Hannah laughed, looking at George in front of her, half-joking half-serious, "Then you should be calling me young auntie."

Arnold neither agreed nor disagreed, his gaze attentively fixed on the girl, imbued with a hint of barely noticeable tenderness.

The atmosphere between the three was slightly stiff, seemingly isolated from everyone else. No one dared to step forward and interrupt.

George’s gaze rested steadily on Hannah. Seeing their intimate gestures, his heart seemed to have been gouged out, cold winds blowing inside.

He was unable to describe what he felt.

The person who used to have eyes only for him was now laughing attractively by someone else’s side and that person happened to be his arch-nemesis, Arnold Simmons.

The cold-hearted lunatic who could kill his own kin without a second thought.

George barely resisted the urge to snatch Hannah away from Arnold’s side, but he managed to suppress his desire, mocking coldly, "It seems that Uncle doesn’t know that Hannah and I have known each other for a while."

His words were as humble and courteous as always, yet he had no intention of helping Hannah hide their past.

He was waiting for Arnold to interrogate them, even looking forward to seeing Hannah being abandoned once again.

Only then would Hannah realize that Arnold is not someone good, and that being with him is just being treated as a toy.

Unexpectedly, Arnold didn’t ask, and Hannah didn’t offer any explanations, but instead, she took the initiative to hold Arnold’s hand, "Yes, we’ve known each other for a long time, Mr. Simmons, are you getting jealous?"

Arnold looked down, his deep eyes reflecting the girl’s delicate, fair face, his gaze eventually fixed on her slender, fair neck.

Arnold then turned to George, his voice slightly detached, "And then?"

His emotions appeared unmoved, showing no concern that Hannah and George knew each other.

George was startled, about to reveal their relationship, when he heard someone calling Arnold’s name in the distance.

It was a foreigner, one of Arnold’s business partners.

Hannah pushed him, "You can go handle your business, I’ll come find you later."

Arnold glanced at George who was left hanging, lowered his head, and planted a kiss on the girl’s forehead, his voice soft and tender, "Don’t wander off."
