Chapter 1196: Chapter 1196 I Can Give You Everything

Now that no one was rewarding her, there naturally was no need to act.

But George River hoped it was all just an act, a play designed to get back at him.

More than Hannah being with Arnold Simmons, what he couldn’t accept was the fact that Hannah had fallen in love with Arnold.

Her love for someone else meant that their two years of affection had truly been forgotten by her, completely erased.

He had done so much, all to win back the person who originally belonged to him.

George River had thought that at this moment he should feel confident, yet inexplicably, his heart only felt a wave of panic.

"Hannah Winter, whatever Arnold gives you, I can give you more. The love you want, all you desire, I can provide it," he said.

George River’s tightly clenched fist slowly relaxed, his usual coldness vanishing from his brow and eyes, replaced instead by a glimpse of devoted affection.

The man who once coldheartedly said, "I will never love you," eventually came to regret it.

Hannah quietly watched him, and then let out a soft laugh, "George River, I don’t love you, and no matter how much you give, I don’t want it.

It was as if she had traded places with the once indifferent and heartless man.

In carrying out acts of emotional cruelty, she became even more adept.

The words she spoke were gentle, but to those on the receiving end, they felt colder than the winter wind.

George River couldn’t cope, the smile on the corner of his mouth was tender but strained, as if he was forcing himself to keep it together, "It doesn’t matter, my love for you is enough."

Hannah turned her head away, looking at him, "I don’t want your love."

The disdain and ruthlessness in her eyes caught George River off guard.

A sharp pain spread from his chest, his heart felt as if it no longer existed, perceptible only through the pain in his entire body.

In the past, when Hannah looked at him, her eyes were filled with admiration.

He was her everything, her whole world, she bestowed upon him all her tenderness and admiration.

No one else existed in their world.

But from the moment he discarded her, everything changed.

He had never thought that one day Hannah would fall in love with someone else.

Or even... marry someone else.

Now, she was taking back everything she once offered him, and even considered giving it to someone else.

It shouldn’t be like this.

As she turned to leave, George River reached out, grabbing her wrist to stop her.

Hannah glanced at him, calmly stating, "Let go."

George River did not move, only staring intently at Hannah’s eyes. After a moment of silence, there was a sudden huskiness in his voice, yet he smiled, "I remember I said, I would never let go."

Finishing that sentence seemed to drain all his strength, with even his throat feeling a bitter pain.

It didn’t matter if Hannah didn’t love him, as long as he brought her back, saw her every day, she would fall for him again.

Eventually, she would have no one but him in her world.

The man’s eyes showed unhidden tenderness and deep affection.

If this had happened before, the original host might have fainted from excitement upon seeing such a look in his eyes.

She had longed for two years to see even a hint of emotion for her in his eyes, and had never received even a morsel of his compassion.

The current George River had shed his usual pretense of cold indifference, his obstinate and domineering nature a result of unreciprocated love, a mix of affection and regret that made for an interesting spectacle.

Hannah, in a good mood, savored the moment before speaking again, "But I’ve also said, that’s your business."

She pulled her hand away and turned to leave.

Encountering George River here tonight was purely accidental.

The plot had already crumbled beyond repair, and naturally, she no longer had any ability to foresee the storyline like before.
