Chapter 1163: Chapter 1163: Followed Whom

Old Sir River sneered and hit the nail on the head, "George, I am your grandfather, and I understand you too well. When you were entangled with Hannah Winter, I warned you before, emotions can never be severed with money. Look at you now, creating some sort of substitute contract, it’s simply laughable."

"How could the River family produce someone as fickle and promiscuous as you!"

Old Sir River did not hold back at all when criticizing his grandson.

In his youth, although he was a workaholic, prioritizing his job above all else, he was absolutely monogamous when it came to love.

Even though he did not have deep feelings for the wife he married for business reasons, he gave the utmost respect to his marriage and his wife, never once causing any shameful incidents outside.

Even for George’s father’s generation, it was the same.

Although George’s father always complained that Old Sir River neglected his family, harboring resentment in his heart, he also followed in Old Sir River’s footsteps of lifelong devotion in love, never harboring any improper thoughts.

He even went so far as to oppose Old Sir River, giving up his heir status to take George’s mother far away.

Old Sir River truly did not understand, in terms of romantic entanglements, whom had George taken after.

"Regardless of whatever past complications there were, now that you have broken up, I expect you to behave properly and stop bothering her,"

Without hesitation, George replied, "Impossible."

He acknowledged that his past behavior was despicable, but this did not mean he would give up on Hannah.

The reason he had vacillated between Hannah and Tiffany Lynch in the past was that he had not seen clearly what his heart wanted.

Yes, he indeed could not let go of Tiffany Lynch at first.

The guilt coupled with his first love from his youth, his deep feelings for Tiffany were merely due to a five-year obsession.

He had no love for her, the one he truly loved was the person who had stayed by his side for two years, caring for him attentively, with eyes and heart full of him—Hannah.

Unfortunately, he realized this too late.

But no matter, Hannah would only be his.

Determination filled George’s eyes.

Old Sir River sighed deeply once more, reflecting on whether the heightened expectations he’d instilled in George about being an excellent heir had made him too self-centered.

If George’s face did not resemble his own in his youth, Old Sir River would have wanted to leave right then and seek a paternity test from the hospital across the street.

Old Sir River was also aware of the matter between George and Tiffany Lynch.

However, he never approved of it. He too had experienced the naive puppy love of youth, which is why he did not interfere much.

When the Lynch family went bankrupt, the River family indeed played a part.

Yet at that time, the Lynch family aimed too high, complacent, and even without external interference, their business downfall was only a matter of time.

However, he certainly did not expect his grandson to feel guilty over Tiffany Lynch because of that incident.

But true love was out of the question, if there were truly an inseparable affection, the River family could certainly afford the cost of an airplane ticket.

Old Sir River saw things very clearly.

He was disappointed in George, but after all, he was his grandson, and the River Clan could not fall into the hands of others, so he still asked, "Are you determined to oppose Arnold Simmons?"

That question was affirmative, so George did not reply but instead discussed the southern city project with Old Sir River.
