Chapter 1156: Chapter 1156: Something to Say

In her eyes, she could only see her future "goddaughter," and she wasn’t really clear on who was the male lead or who was the supporting actor.

Hannah responded to Grace Yarn’s question, "Not the male lead, the supporting actor."

Grace Yarn’s memory was stirred, and she unconsciously blurted out, "Is it that supporting actor who can’t win the female lead’s love, whose ending seemed pretty tragic?"

Louis Snyder’s face remained adorned with his unchanged smile.

Hannah glanced at him, then averted her gaze, her voice tinged with mirth, "It is quite tragic."

Louis’s expression shifted slightly, his lips pursed, his gaze firmly on Hannah.

Grace Yarn was still discussing the movie’s plot with Hannah; their conversation seemed endless. What was supposed to be a visit to view paintings had turned into a chat session.

Louis had been waiting patiently to the side until Grace Yarn noticed him, "Louis, do you have something to do?"

Louis was about to say yes when Grace Yarn continued, "Right, you should hurry downstairs; the guests have indeed all arrived. Go find Rosalind, let him introduce you to more people."

Louis didn’t want to leave.

Whenever he saw Hannah, he only wanted to stay with her.

When Grace Yarn was explaining her paintings to Hannah, Louis followed closely behind them.

Occasionally, he’d interject a comment stating Grace Yarn’s painting was beautiful.

Not that the painting was beautiful, but the person in the painting was.

However, Grace Yarn, a bit nervous, failed to catch the deeper meaning and suggested, "Louis, if you like it, I can teach you to paint someday."

Louis didn’t like painting, but seeing Hannah nearby, he nodded and said, "Okay, thank you, Auntie."

He was impeccably behaved.

Grace Yarn was moved, her eyes beginning to redden, relieved that Louis was willing to spend more time with her.

After her moment of emotion, she began introducing the next painting, speaking so earnestly that she paid little attention to anything else.

Louis deliberately slowed his pace to walk beside Hannah.

He reached out, intending to grasp Hannah’s hand, but when he was about to touch her, he carefully switched to tugging at her clothing instead.

In a voice only the two of them could hear, he called, "Sister."

Just then, Grace Yarn stopped walking, and Hannah accordingly halted, turning her head to glance at the person following closely, "What is it?"

Louis looked down, his eyes on the ruby that adorned Hannah’s dress, "I have something I want to tell you."

The ruby was dazzling, set against the black gauze, easily bringing to mind the recently viewed painting of the Rosalind girl.

The moonlight was black, the roses were red.

The rose was a gem, the moonlight was black gauze.

Hannah ignored him, gazing at her dress, a slight frown on her brow, "You’ve wrinkled my dress."

Louis promptly let go and said in a low voice, "Sorry, Sister, don’t be angry."

Hanging his head low, he was about to say something more when Hannah made a silencing gesture.

Telling him to listen attentively to Grace Yarn.

Louis fell silent.

After staying upstairs for about fifteen minutes, Grace Yarn took Hannah back downstairs.

Grace Yarn failed to notice any difference in Louis compared to usual and was simply engrossed in talking with Hannah.

She found that whatever she said to Hannah, she was able to pick up the conversation, and she didn’t mind her being long-winded, or pretentious in speaking about obscure things.

Not like those former high-society ladies.

They would ask her to talk about her expertise and once she did, they would scorn her for pretending to be noble and mock them for only knowing how to spend money frivolously.

In fact, she really didn’t mean that; it was just that painting truly was what she did and excelled at the most.
