Chapter 1154: Chapter 1154: Looks Like
So... it’s still best to honestly bow your head and admit your mistakes.
Though Mrs. Lee was reluctant at heart, she could only lower her head towards Grace Yarn and apologize, saying, "I’m sorry, I was just talking nonsense just now."
Grace Yarn looked surprised and flattered, hurriedly waved her hands, and tried to say it was not necessary.
Roy Yarn, who had been silent until then, suddenly spoke up, "Even if my Yarn family is lacking, we cannot tolerate just anyone bullying us."
His face was cold, and that handsome visage also carried a bit of an intimidating presence.
Mrs. Quin nodded continuously in agreement, dragging several people with her as they left immediately, not daring to linger for another moment.
Once the people had left, Grace Yarn turned to look at Hannah who was standing in front of her.
Feeling thankful, she did not forget to express her gratitude, "The incident just now, it was all thanks to you. If it hadn’t been for you, I might have been bothered by them for much longer."
Actually, she was very uncomfortable being around those affluent ladies. They talked about various luxury goods, or how much they spent on afternoon tea outings.
She couldn’t bring herself to flatter others superficially, and she wasn’t used to comparing herself with others, so she could never join in their conversations.
On the rare occasions when the discussion turned to her, even though their words made her feel a bit uncomfortable, she was too embarrassed to interrupt and could only listen silently, nodding along to whatever they said.
She consoled herself that after all, being talked about behind her back wasn’t too harmful.
Moreover, she indeed wasn’t good at anything. The family company relied on Oliver, her son was well-behaved and obedient, never giving her cause for concern.
Roy Yarn’s personality was indeed very much like Grace Yarn’s.
However, such character traits made Roy Yarn seem like a quiet gentleman, while, on Grace Yarn, they appeared more as a form of soft and gentle weakness.
Neither of them had an aggressive bone in their body.
Hannah thought that Grace Yarn was like her mother, not only in appearance but also somewhat similar in personality.
It was as if she was standing in front of her once again...
So much time had passed, and so many things had happened in between, some people were almost forgotten by her.
She smiled, and the ripples in her eyes settled in an instant, "It’s okay, Roy and I are good friends. There’s no need for you to be polite."
Grace Yarn had been wanting to meet Hannah because she felt they would get along well.
Now that they had actually met, she felt her intuition was right.
Looking at Hannah made her feel genuinely happy, as if she had seen her own daughter whom she hadn’t seen in years.
It was both joyful and exciting. She was somewhat shy and introverted by nature, but fortunately, Roy helped in moving the conversation along.
The two of them soon began to chat.
Grace Yarn asked how Hannah and Roy had met.
Hannah thought for a moment and replied, "One time at their roadshow, Roy passed me a ticket for their school’s music concert."
In Grace Yarn’s memory, her son was quiet and easily shy, especially in the presence of strangers, so taking the initiative to strike up a conversation was virtually unheard of.
So, hearing Hannah say this, she looked at Roy standing on the side with some surprise, "it turns out that our Roy can take the initiative too!"
Roy Yarn scratched his head, starting to feel a bit embarrassed, "I have some things to take care of, you two talk. I’ll leave first."
Grace Yarn nodded, waving her hand, "All right, you go. Let me spend some time with Hannah."
She was so delighted to have found a "new daughter," she wasn’t even concerned about her son at the moment.
Roy Yarn sighed, turned his head towards Hannah, and added, "Then I’ll leave first and come back to find you later."
