Chapter 1150: Chapter 1150: Hiding from Him

She was smiling, but Anna felt as if all her thoughts were laid bare before her, seen through completely.

Awkward and embarrassed.

Under the dazzling starlight, all demons and ghosts could find no place to hide.

For some reason, Anna was suddenly reminded of this phrase.

The sponsor next to her noticed Anna’s unnatural expression, and shot her a warning look.

The message was clear, urging her not to offend anyone.

And it was best to suck up to Hannah a bit more.

After all, women would have more common topics to talk about.

Anna cursed internally non-stop, but on the surface, she could only pretend to be enthusiastic, uttering flattering words.

The banquet gradually became livelier.

Hannah had just turned around when she saw Emily Lynch excitedly waving at her from the dessert area.

Silently mouthing Hannah’s name.

"I’ll be right back," Hannah tiptoed and whispered in Arnold Simmons’ ear, then pointed towards Emily Lynch’s direction.

Arnold Simmons turned to look, and the previously bouncing Emily Lynch suddenly calmed down as soon as she saw Arnold looking her way.

With the posture of holding a cake, she appeared very elegant and ladylike.

Arnold Simmons withdrew his gaze, squeezed Hannah’s hand, and whispered, "Go on, I’ll wait for you here."

Hannah nodded her head and then lifted her skirt to walk away.

Anna, who had been mentally preparing to compete with Hannah, could only watch as she walked away, not daring to say another word to stop her.

She had to reassure herself that tonight’s goal was George River, and nobody else mattered.

With that thought, she clutched her clutch bag tighter.

No sooner had Hannah walked over than Emily Lynch was about to excitedly embrace her, but then she remembered Arnold Simmons was watching and hastily stopped herself.

Instead, she handed over the cake she had set aside, offering it like a treasure, "Hannah, try this, I’ve tasted them, and they are definitely delicious."

Hannah said thank you, and just as she reached out to take it, Edison Lynch somehow popped up from the side.

He looked around and arrived with a napkin on his head, seemingly snatched from somewhere, with a cautious face. He quietly sidled up to Emily Lynch and whispered, "Arnold isn’t here, is he?"

"Don’t worry, he didn’t come over." Hannah waved at him, smiling with a twinkle in her eyes, mimicking his quiet tone, "Are you hiding from him?"

Seeing Hannah, the just sneakily behaving Edison Lynch suddenly straightened up, then casually tossed the napkin from his head to the side and spoke in his feigned deep voice, "Hey, pretty lady, long time no see, huh? Remember me?"

Emily Lynch: "..."

She had always found her brother a bit slick, but she hadn’t expected him to be this slick.

Slick to the point where it made her feel greasy from head to toe.

Hannah nodded, smiled back at him, "Of course, I remember you, Mr. Wall-Digger."

Edison Lynch’s knees went weak, nearly bringing him to his knees, but he steadied himself in time, "You... you know it’s me?"

"I know." Hannah said, "I haven’t had the chance to thank you yet."

"Pfft, it’s nothing, not worth mentioning," Edison Lynch waved his hand nonchalantly, unable to stop the smile on his lips.

He really hadn’t expected Hannah to remember him.

To even recognize his alternate identity.

Happiness, sheer happiness.

While enjoying his bliss, Edison Lynch suddenly remembered something, "Does... does Arnold know about this?"

"You mean about the alternate identity?"

"Yeah, that."

Hannah pondered seriously for a moment, her lips curling up, "He probably... doesn’t know?"
