Chapter 1143: Chapter 1143 Socializing
If he were not favored, there wouldn’t have been a birthday party planned especially for him.
But to say he was favored, the party in the end changed its purpose, and the person being catered to became Roy Yarn.
You must understand that for business people like them, social connections were always the most important, Today your son shows his face, tomorrow my daughter shows hers.
They were all peers, and bluntly put, also the future heirs of these massive family fortunes; making friends early on would only be beneficial and not harmful to future business dealings.
If someone’s child hadn’t started socializing at the appropriate age, it meant either their status was not presentable, possibly an illegitimate child, or the family hadn’t planned on grooming them as an heir.
Clearly, people guessed it was the latter.
After all, Louis Snyder was in no way associated with being an illegitimate child.
"To be honest, it’s all very clear; Louis Snyder, no matter how you slice it, is just an outsider. And now that Roy’s father is in charge of the Yarn Family, it is unlikely to fall into his hands."
As he spoke, he took a sip from his glass with an "I saw through it all long ago" look.
But as soon as he finished speaking, someone else offered a different view.
"Isn’t it said that Grace Yarn, the Yarn Family Eldest Miss, is the most amiable of all? It seems unlikely she wouldn’t leave anything for her younger sister’s son."
Grace was true to her name, from her youth, the rich second-generation circles knew the Yarn Family had a daughter with a gentle and compliant nature.
Back then, many wealthy mistresses expressed their hopes of having a daughter-in-law like Grace.
After all, in their eyes, the saying ’Marry for virtue and not for wealth’ never went out of fashion.
Yet, no one expected later on that Grace would marry Quach Family’s notorious playboy, the little devil.
As the conversation went on, it shifted to the generation before them.
The few people in the conversation were just over thirty years old; even though they had families of their own, they did not understand the events of those days.
Moreover, they were on someone else’s turf; it was somewhat inappropriate to talk about other people’s family matters.
The group fell silent, which was timely as Roy’s classmates that he had invited were arriving.
Seeing familiar faces, Roy’s expression finally relaxed a bit, and a smile formed at the corners of his mouth.
The friends who arrived were all close companions from the music academy, with whom he had street performed before, which is why he specifically invited them.
Originally, the birthday party was said to be for Louis Snyder, so Roy did not feel it was suitable to invite friends over. But a while ago his mother had found him, saying that Louis Snyder had suggested not making a big deal out of it, and so they had changed it to a regular party.
Roy didn’t say much, he just asked his mother if he could invite his friends over.
Grace of course agreed.
Truly, over the years, Grace had dedicated most of her energy to painting and did not really know much about Roy’s classmates and friends.
Now that he brought it up himself, Grace was naturally happy and even took the initiative to ask about Hannah.
Talking about others was easy, but as soon as Hannah came up, Roy’s face turned a shade of red and he stuttered for a moment before saying, "She’s a good friend."
Grace didn’t notice anything amiss with Roy; instead, she clapped her hands happily, "That’s wonderful! You must introduce Hannah to me, I’ve always felt like she’s one of our family the minute I saw her."
Roy froze for a moment, his face aflame, "But... she, Hannah already has a boyfriend."
Grace stopped, looking at Roy with surprise.
