Chapter 1142: Chapter 1142: Accompany You to Go

Unfortunately, after all this time, the "pirated Golden Lotus" remained intact, always grinning foolishly.

Golden Lotus declared that it was being mocked and absolutely wouldn’t stand for such an insult!

It announced that it was going to run away from home! Seriously!

Unless Hannah threw the imitation away herself.

Then...

Then Hannah packed up Golden Lotus’s belongings and showed it the door.

It didn’t come back yesterday, and still hasn’t returned today.

Hannah set aside the stuffed toy she had been holding in her arms, then leaned in herself, tilting her head and snuggling into Arnold’s embrace, "Didn’t you say it was a birthday party before?"

Arnold hugged her, his hand gently pinching her reddened cheek, and whispered, "How did you know that."

Hannah covered her face to stop him from pinching, "Louis sent me an invitation."

After she spoke, Arnold’s eyes darkened a shade.

Like a fierce beast about to bare its fangs. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

Hannah pursed her lips and tried to quietly climb to the other side of the sofa.

Just as she bent over and before her hand could touch down, a strong arm suddenly wrapped around her waist.

The world before her eyes blurred for a moment, and when she opened them again, she had fallen back into his embrace.

Arnold, leaning against the back of the chair, turned her over so that she could lie in his arms. He pinched her cheek and drew close, "You can’t think about running away every time you’ve done something naughty."

The warm breath on her earlobe caused a tingling sensation to spread throughout her body.

Hannah involuntarily shivered, closed her eyes, and stopped looking at his enticing face, stubbornly saying, "I haven’t done anything bad."

Arnold chuckled softly, "No?"

She couldn’t help but open her eyes to meet those smiling ones; she turned away, her gaze drifting elsewhere, "I didn’t accept his invitation."

Arnold embraced her, "I know."

She brought her gaze back to him, a touch of plaintiveness in her eyes, "You know and you’re still mad?"

"I’m not mad," Arnold fixed his gaze on her, "You’re the one who ran off first."

Indeed, he wasn’t mad.

Because no one could become a barrier between him and Hannah.

Anger and misunderstandings wouldn’t exist between them either.

If there had to be a reason, it was probably for... amusement?

Arnold looked down, saw her puffy cheeks, and softened his voice again to ask her, "Do you still want to go to the Yarn family’s party?"

Hannah, without a word, began to unbutton Arnold’s shirt.

Just the one button, unbuttoning it and then fastening it again, over and over.

She enjoyed the game immensely.

Until the last time, Hannah unbuttoned it and didn’t fasten it back up; instead, she slipped her icy cold hand inside, her face bearing a triumphant smile.

Like a mischievous fox.

Cunning and vivacious.

Arnold didn’t react, just watched her frolic.

As time passed, Hannah herself grew bored and lazily snuggled back into Arnold’s arms, her voice soft, "I want to have a look at the party."

Arnold agreed.

Then he lowered his head to press against her soft cheek, gently kissing the corner of her lips, "I’ll accompany you there."

The Yarn family party was attended by the wealthy and powerful.

Originally, it was said to celebrate the birthday of a grandson from the family, but the pretext had since changed, and the guests still brought gifts.

A matter of courtesy.

Louis, who should have been the protagonist of the event, was nowhere to be found; in contrast, Roy Yarn, donning an appropriate white suit, was busy greeting the guests on his behalf.

People didn’t say much openly, but inevitably there was some whispering.

Most of it was speculation about what exactly Louis’s status was within the Yarn family.
