Chapter 1128: Chapter 1128: We Will Meet Again
"Hmm, after filming for so many years, I want to try transitioning," Arnold Simmons said.
The entertainment industry is always quick to change, and while reaching the top is easy, the hard part is how to maintain that position, which requires a lot of effort.
Connections, capital, and marketing are all indispensable.
Jackie Qualls was twenty-eight this year, and he had been in the industry for nearly twenty years.
From his initial struggles to winning the Best Actor award, over the years, Jackie always appeared gentle, cultured, and calmly detached in the eyes of his audience.
When it came to national popularity or likability among casual viewers, no actor of his type had ever surpassed him.
Now that he suddenly proposed wanting to work behind the scenes, it indeed shocked many people.
However, this was understandable, for being a star is glamorous, but it’s not as comfortable as being a big boss behind the scenes.
The two of them chatted casually for a bit, not touching on any deep topics, just like ordinary friends.
Jackie always exuded a calm and steady temperament, always making people feel as if they were basking in the gentle warmth of spring, even now.
Only the occasional change in his eyes would betray his mood.
He shifted his gaze away from Hannah and looked towards the gloomy weather outside. "Did you come here today for the celebration banquet?" he asked.
Hannah said she did.
He smiled again, "I haven’t had the chance to congratulate you yet."
Rosalind had been a huge hit, turning many heads in the industry.
Hannah was still young, but in terms of accomplishments and resources, she had already crushed many others. If she didn’t have someone to protect her, her path ahead would not be easy.
Fortunately, she had Arnold Simmons by her side.
Jackie had always felt dissatisfied, and he still did.
Because he was not content, he considered transitioning.
Even if she didn’t need it, he still wanted to try to protect her.
Her phone rang.
Hannah answered the call; it was Jack Stewart asking why she hadn’t returned.
"At the door, I’ll be right back."
The celebration banquet had only just begun; as the protagonist, she should stay a little longer.
"I’ll go in first," Hannah said. "By the way, thanks for the congratulations, and hopefully, we can work together again in the future."
There would be no more opportunities.
Jackie knew it.
Watching her departing figure, he spoke as if possessed, "Hannah."
Hannah turned around.
The faint yellow light from above fell on her, and a layer of starlight seemed to sparkle in her eyes.
It was just a glance, but it still made Jackie’s heart flutter.
He concealed the emotions in his eyes and replaced them with a gentle smile, "It’s nothing, just wanted to say goodbye to you."
Hannah paused, seeing the emotions in the man’s eyes, waved to him, and said, "Goodbye."
Jackie silently watched her receding figure until the urgent ringing of his phone snapped him back, and he turned and stepped into the curtain of rain.
We’ll meet again.
The rain was loud outside the window, but the room was still filled with laughter and chatter.
Someone sat by the window and opened it, letting the cool breeze in to dispel the stuffiness of the room.
Hannah leaned back lazily, listening as the people around her started gossiping about the group.
Who had broken up, who had gotten divorced, who had suddenly had a child.
Any of these tidbits, if tossed out carelessly, would cause a huge commotion, but here, they were just casual conversation.
Every circle has its rules.
The rules of money.
As long as the money is right, everything is negotiable.
If a scandal does break out one day, throwing hundreds or thousands of millions at it will smooth things over.
As long as the fans don’t believe it, the money will still flow in all the same.
