Chapter 1061: Chapter 1061 Nobody Cares

Outside the camera frame, countless eyes were also closely watching this delicate and seemingly fragile girl.

Arnold Simmons was watching too. He opened the live interview as soon as the meeting ended.

His gaze simply fell upon Hannah’s interlocked hands. Her fingertips trembled slightly, her left index finger and right index finger taking turns reaching up to rest on top.

She appeared to be at a loss.

But only Arnold Simmons knew.

His little girl was just bored.

Probably because today’s questions were too unchallenging.

A few seconds later, the girl’s characteristically soft and gentle voice carried, "Probably because I know that even if I explain, no one would care."

As she spoke, she lifted her head, looking towards the lens that glowed with a red light, with laughter brimming in her eyes.

But that laughter seemed to fall like the wind, lightly touching down, leaving not a single trace. It gave the impression of helplessness and sadness, even disappointment.

Because everyone was accusing her. This feeling, even if not at fault, made one seem like a criminal.

A video edited out of context, a lie full of holes. Climbing atop the so-called moral high ground, where insults were just for the sake of insulting, and accusations were only for accusing. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

They only said,

This kind of person is truly selfish, without a shred of compassion.

If it were me, I would definitely not do such a thing.

No normal person should act this way.

The moral high ground was bathed in light, a realm all demons and monsters yearn for, as if by merely standing there, they could don the skin of humans and ascend to immortality.

Those who are both insecure and arrogant always need a place to make their existence feel validated.

The comments were "crying" madly.

——My heart aches for our little sister, who used to be so confident!

——Heartless cyberbullies, how could you scold such an adorable girl!

——The culprit Tiffany Lynch, come out and apologize, stop hiding!

——Tiffany Lynch’s fans are quick to delete comments, is apologizing that hard? Climbing to the top by stepping on others and whitewashing, truly shameless!

——Don’t be sad pretty girl, you’re still the most beautiful person in the world, we will always support you!

The voice transmitted from the screen, like leaves falling gently onto the windowsill under the blazing sun. Pleasing to the ear, it was endearing.

But for Tiffany Lynch, that voice was like a death knell.

Chilled raindrops began to pelt her, seeping cold into her body.

She looked up at the man before her, eyes brimming with tears, biting her lip tightly, her appearance fragile yet timid, reaching out to grab the man’s hand, only to be inadvertently avoided by him.

Tiffany Lynch’s heart sank bit by bit.

Tears blurred her vision. She choked up and called out softly with emotion, "Jimmy."

The man sat in the chair, paying her no heed, just looking at the screen where the girl was laughing charmingly, his attention on those red lips.

Between his fingers, an unlit cigarette.

At length, accompanied by the crisp sound of a lighter, the man finally spoke, "Tiffany, you shouldn’t have done such a thing."

Tiffany Lynch gripped her purse tightly, her fingernails catching on the metal zipper, the tips throbbing with pain.

Yet such physical pain still couldn’t alleviate the anger and panic inside her.

She lowered her head, tears slipping from the corners of her eyes, her entire demeanor exuding softness, "Jimmy, I just wanted to help you."

"Help me?" Jimmy Simmons turned to look at her, irony laced in his gaze, though his face still held a smile, "Tiffany, did you really want to help me?"

"Of course I did."

Seeing the smile on the man’s face, Tiffany Lynch hurriedly stepped forward.
