Kui Yi was stunned for ten seconds. “Have you lost your mind?” Kui Yi reacted and shouted, “Why don’t you rob a bank?”

“Nonsense,” Jiang Cheng said officiously, “You won’t get money this fast from bank-robbing.”

Kui Yi gripped his fist. The next second, his left arm expanded. A layer of scales spread from his neck to cover his right arm. The scales looked light red. They reflected a strange light. He wanted to scare Jiang Cheng by showing off his power. If he didn’t convince Jiang Cheng, the latter might trip him up later.

Jiang Cheng smiled at him. He was not scared at all. However, when Kui Yi revealed his door, Jiang Cheng felt the door inside his body move. Then, a scary man slowly awakened. It was Wu…

Like a host, he could sense Wu’s emotions. When threatened by Kui Yi, the door inside Jiang Cheng didn’t react. Wu would at least give his host some face.

Jiang Cheng felt confident. He wanted to use Kui Yi to dig out the people behind him. He definitely belonged to a group. If he could capture them and get them to work for him…

Kui Yi swallowed nervously. He didn’t get it. He was so scary, but Jiang Cheng looked at him like he was a beauty in a bikini.

To be precise, Jiang Cheng was a cute money printer.

Kui Yi stomped forward. He planned to show off the power of his scaled arm by grabbing Jiang Cheng. However, as he took his first step, his arm suddenly shrank, and the scales receded. Before he took the next step, his scaled arm disappeared. Not only that, he heard a bang inside his heart. The thing from inside the door that he had summoned… had slipped away. It even slammed the door shut. No matter how hard he tried, the door didn’t move.

“What’s happening?” Kui Yi panicked. This was the first time this had happened since he obtained the door. The door inside his body radiated fear. How was that possible? When tackling the ghost of this mission, the thing inside his body was very courageous. So, why would it escape?

Moments later, Kui Yi understood something. The way he looked at Jiang Cheng changed.

Jiang Cheng smiled. “You lasted less than 3 seconds. You are barely 10% of me.”

Kui Yi’s eyes moved away from Jiang Cheng’s face. When he saw Jiang Cheng’s shadow, Kui Yi’s pupils trembled. His shadow was taller than him! Similar to Jiang Cheng, his shadow was smiling. However, the grin was so big that it could easily swallow him.

“You…” Kui Yi’s lips trembled.

Jiang Cheng chuckled. He reached out to hug Kui Yi’s shoulders. They looked like best buds. “Brother, give me your contact information. I’ll locate you. You better…” Jiang Cheng pointed at his shadow, “Don’t lie to us.”

Soon, Kui Yi and Jiang Cheng reached a consensus.

Jiang Cheng and Lin Wan ‘Er would search Zhang Zhaowei’s home, while Kui Yi would check out the morgue.

“But we have no money,” Jiang Cheng turned to Kui Yi. “That’s so inconvenient.”

Kui Yi took out the money unwillingly and gave it to Jiang Cheng. “That’s all I have. It should be enough for the cab fare.” Jiang Cheng turned to leave with Lin Wan ‘Er.

“Wait.”

Jiang Cheng stopped. It was Wang Changguo who spoke. He scratched his chin awkwardly, “Can I go with you? I promise I won’t drag you down.” Wang Changguo swore, “I feel like I’ll live if I’m with you.”

“No,” Jiang Cheng answered.

However, the travellers were surprised that Wang Changguo would volunteer.

“Wang Changguo,” After Jiang Cheng’s duo left, Kui Yi turned to him, “Since you’re so driven, I need a partner. You should come with me to the morgue.”

The morgue…

Wang Changguo was resistant, but when he met Kui Yi’s icy gaze, he swallowed his words. Kui Yi had just been scammed. If Wang Changguo dared to say no, he’d teach him a lesson.

“What about us?” Cao Yang asked, “Brother Kui Yi, why don’t I go with you? He…” Cao Yang looked at the deflated Wang Changguo. He was worried.

“It’s fine. Stay here to wait for us.” Kui Yi summoned the elevator. “I suspect Director Qi might come. If he does, you have to protect him.

“But, you have to make sure that he’s the real Director Qi and not a ghost.”

Kui Yi glanced down the corridor. The ghost… hadn’t shown up for some time already. Where was she?

Was she waiting for them at the morgue, or had she left with Jiang Cheng’s team?

Regardless, Kui Yi was most worried that the ghost had gone to look for Director Qi.

Ding!

The elevator reached the floor. The door opened. The cabin was empty. Kui Yi told Wang Changguo to get in first. After a few seconds, he entered. Why else would he bring Wang Changguo?

The elevator ride was smooth. They stood and waited outside the morgue. They didn’t hear anything, so they pushed the door open. Based on Jiang Cheng’s instructions, they found the cabinet for Zhang Zhaowei’s corpse.

“Guard my back,” Kui Yi ordered.

Wang Changguo looked pitiful. He looked around with the flashlight on his phone. He appeared as if a ghost would jump out of the dark to kill him.

After pulling open the drawer, Kui Yi found the tag Yu Yu mentioned. It was an inconspicuous card. Kui Yi wouldn’t guarantee he’d notice it on his own.

Women were more detail-oriented.
