Chapter 915: [915] : Sucker Punch!!

Trunks nudged Shin, who was staring blankly into the distance. "Shin, it’s over."

Shin slowly looked up at him, a strange look in his eyes. "I just have a feeling... this isn’t over yet."

"Cell isn’t the type to give up so easily."

Trunks seemed to agree, but still, he offered a counterpoint. "No matter what, Uncle Goku beat Cell. Even if Cell wanted to try something, he couldn’t, right?"

Shin just shook his head and said no more.

He knew Cell had Super Saiyan genes. He knew what that meant. But even if he told them, no one would believe him.

This was the curse of being a transmigrator. You knew so much, knew how to change the course of events and alter the final outcome, but no one would ever listen.

Even if he moved the world to persuade them, it would likely be for nothing.

Sometimes, his warnings were even misinterpreted as malicious attempts to stir up trouble.

Seeing Shin fall silent, Trunks continued, "Don’t dwell on things we can’t predict."

"None of us can decide the future. If we could, things wouldn’t be like this, even with a time machine."

"Let’s go eat. Cell’s treating us. This whole month has felt like a dream. The world turned upside down so fast."

Shin finally stood, nodding. He followed the large group toward the hotel Cell had mentioned.

Kushina, who had been sitting beside him, sidled up and whispered, "You look so silly when you’re lost in thought like that."

Shin gave an awkward laugh. He could just picture it: him, sitting alone on the spectator stands, deep in thought, with only Kushina for company.

"Ah, even if I do, Kushina, you can’t just say it out loud," Shin said, ruffling her hair with a sigh.

Kushina nodded. "I know. I won’t call you silly anymore. Unless... unless you’re being really silly, and I just can’t help it."

Shin wouldn’t let anyone else talk to him like that.

But Kushina was different. They had been through so much together, and their bond was so close that a little teasing didn’t matter.

Seeing how close the two were, Trunks instinctively shuffled a little farther away from Shin.

He shot Shin a disdainful look, as if he couldn’t stand the sight of someone taking advantage of Kushina.

Thwack.

A sharp sound echoed as Shin’s knuckle connected with Trunks’s head.

"What are you looking at??" Shin demanded.

He wouldn’t dare hit Kushina, but messing with Trunks was fair game.

The knock didn’t cause any real damage, but it definitely hurt.

Shin’s specially aimed knuckle-rap left Trunks’s head spinning.

After that, Trunks didn’t dare question Shin’s behavior again, let alone give him a scornful look.

Though deep down, Trunks still believed that while Shin was a good man in the grand scheme of things and incredibly powerful, his personal morals were questionable. Otherwise, why would he be bullying a little girl?

Cell had absorbed a lot of people, and he had always been the strongest in Central City, so he was naturally loaded.

Besides, he had never paid for a meal in his life. He found the biggest hotel in the city and ordered a feast for a thousand people.

During the banquet, Cell even showed off his talents. For a bio-android, he had a surprising gift for music.

He performed a violin concerto at the banquet.

While it couldn’t compare to the masters Shin had heard in his past life, for an amateur, his skill was exceptional.

Goku was also thrilled to have met Cell. After all, there were few on Earth who could be a worthy opponent. As for Vegeta... if he got serious, he could handle him with ease.

Sometimes, he even arrogantly thought that if he went all out, maybe even used a sneak attack...

If he threw honor out the window, Vegeta would only last a few hits.

Of course, he could never tell Vegeta that. It would shatter his pride.

After all these years, Vegeta had trained with all his might, but the gap between him and Goku only grew wider. Vegeta would never be able to accept that.

After a few drinks and several courses, Cell took the stage again and gave a passionate speech.

The gist of it was that his obsession with fighting was all-consuming.

But on Earth, he couldn’t find an opponent of equal strength to help him improve, so he had resorted to drastic measures. He hoped everyone could forgive him for any trouble he’d caused.

He then said that he felt his strength was still far inferior to Goku’s, so he planned to travel to other planets to learn from others and improve himself through his journey.

Everyone who heard him felt that Cell’s intentions were good. Though he was a bio-android and had caused a lot of death, since he was willing to turn over a new leaf, many were willing to forgive his past sins.

Even Hercule, who had been so severely injured that he had to be carried to the banquet on a stretcher by two of his students, was an exception.

He was so moved by Cell’s words that his eyes welled up with tears.

Ever since winning the World Martial Arts Tournament, he had rarely pushed himself, never innovating beyond his "Dynamite Kick."

But Cell, who was so much stronger, only a little weaker than Goku, was willing to travel to other galaxies to constantly improve himself.

He deeply felt that his own skill was no match for Cell’s, and even his love for martial arts was far inferior.

He finally came to terms with the fact that he couldn’t beat Cell.

After all, not everyone would dedicate their entire life, even their very being, to martial arts.

Finally, amid cheers and laughter, the banquet hosted by Cell came to an end.

Since Cell was leaving, everyone naturally went to see him off.

Cell invited Goku to travel with him to other galaxies.

But Goku refused.

The two seemed to share a mutual respect. Just before boarding the spaceship, Cell suggested one last handshake with Goku.

Goku, of course, couldn’t refuse such a request.

However, just as their hands touched...

Cell suddenly struck, without a shred of warning.

His full-power, long-prepared attack shot straight for Goku’s chest.
