Chapter 914: [914] : Goku’s Entrance

Hercule had won the 24th World Martial Arts Tournament and had been teaching in Central City for many years.

Everyone present knew he was a renowned martial arts master.

Shin looked at Hercule. He was nearly six-foot-three, a bit taller than Shin, and built like a tank, all muscle.

However, Shin knew that, according to the manga, Hercule would be easily defeated by Cell.

And the Cell of this world wasn’t much weaker than the original.

Sure enough, after Hercule jumped on stage and briefly listed his achievements and credentials, the match began.

Realizing the extent of Cell’s power, Hercule immediately unleashed his strongest move: the "Dynamite Kick."

According to Hercule, any enemy hit by this kick would be killed or severely injured by a massive explosion.

But when Hercule’s Dynamite Kick hit Cell’s protective barrier, it only caused a huge shockwave.

Hercule himself was blown back to the edge of the ring, but Cell stood his ground, not a speck of dust or a single wrinkle on his clothes.

Hercule was shocked, but being in the ring, he had to continue the fight.

He then used his signature move, the Satan Punch.

Cell glanced at Hercule’s technique and said coldly, "Sloppy."

Then, with a single punch, he struck Hercule squarely in the chest.

Whoosh!

Thump!

Hercule was sent flying, landing on the ground, his condition unknown.

The crowd was in an uproar, completely stunned.

After all, while Hercule wasn’t the world’s strongest fighter, if you were to rank them, he’d definitely be in the top thirty or forty.

Plus, with his two students having fought Cell first, he should have been able to gather some useful information.

But he had been defeated so pathetically, knocked out of the ring in two rounds, his fate uncertain.

It seemed that for now, everyone could only place their hopes in Goku.

After all, they had heard that in their previous encounter, Cell hadn’t really gotten the upper hand against Goku.

Goku straightened his gi, ran a hand through his hair, and stood.

He walked to the edge of the ring.

"Alright, Cell," he said, his voice ringing with anticipation. "Let’s have a real, all-out fight."

"Don’t hold back. Let everyone see what you’re really capable of."

With that, Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan 2. A brilliant golden aura erupted around him, his hair standing on end, lightning crackling around his body.

A massive surge of power emanated from Goku, seeming to warp the very air around the ring.

Seeing Goku’s transformation, Cell didn’t waste any words and fired an energy blast.

Goku simply extended his right fist, deflecting the blast, which dissipated into thin air.

Cell, unfazed, gathered all his energy and unleashed his fatal attack.

He transformed into a streak of green light, charging towards Goku.

Goku, not to be outdone, transformed into a streak of golden light and charged towards Cell.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

A deafening crack echoed as the two fighters collided.

A clash of green and gold light erupted, the two auras warring against each other in a brilliant, violent stalemate.

But Shin’s eyesight was exceptional. Even without activating his Sharingan, he could clearly see the disparity in their power.

He knew his arrival had drastically altered their strengths.

This version of Goku, in his Super Saiyan 2 state, was more than enough to overwhelm the current Cell.

Sure enough, Cell was quickly defeated.

He conceded defeat with a grimace.

At that moment, the entire crowd erupted. This match was even more thrilling than the World Martial Arts Tournament.

Many of them were bettors. With Goku’s victory, some were celebrating, while others were ruined.

Though the fight had only lasted a few minutes, only a few could truly understand the intricacies of the battle.

For example, Vegeta.

By his own estimation, his strength was only a fraction less than Goku’s. He figured he could last at least fifty rounds against him.

But after seeing Cell, he felt he couldn’t even last thirty rounds against him.

Yet Goku had defeated Cell. Didn’t that mean Goku was stronger than Cell?

Though he was more familiar with Goku’s moves, Goku was also more familiar with his.

But Shin had seen something different.

The Cell of this world, having absorbed too few people, seemed unexpectedly weak. He wondered if, after being defeated, he would still be able to tap into his Super Saiyan cells and transform into Perfect Cell.

And even if he did, could Goku and the others handle him?

Shin was a bit lost, but also secretly pleased.

Though his chances of being the hero were greatly reduced, the Dragon Ball world seemed to have found peace because of it.

Many people were spared the horrors of war, able to live peaceful, stable lives. Perhaps it didn’t matter if he was a hero or not.

Since Cell had no great confidence in this match to begin with, he hadn’t made any grand promises.

But now that he had been defeated by Goku, the final victory belonged to Goku. The others, like Vegeta, didn’t need to fight.

Android 16 looked at Goku and ultimately decided not to enter the ring.

Though he was a skilled fighter, he was still no match for Goku.

Since he probably couldn’t win, why would he embarrass Cell on his own turf?

After all, the Cell of this world was relatively humble and gentle. Even after absorbing 17 and 18, Android 16 believed that as long as he didn’t provoke Cell, nothing would happen.

After the match, Cell invited Goku and the other fighters to dinner with him at a hotel.

It was a gesture of welcome for their arrival in Central City, and also a farewell for himself.

Shin felt the world spiraling out of his control. This version of Cell was completely beyond his predictions.

No matter how you sliced it, Cell was supposed to be the ultimate villain—a malevolent being bent on world destruction.

Why was he acting so... humble?

Even if he had been defeated, he should have kept fighting, using his Super Saiyan cells to quickly grow stronger and fight Goku and the others to the bitter end.

What in the world was wrong with this timeline?

Shin shook his head, looking at Kushina in confusion, his expression slightly dazed.
