"I shouldn’t think about that now. Tomorrow’s school. I’ll show them what I’m capable of," Uzumaki Hiroshi said, smiling as he walked down the street.
He quickened his pace, heading home.
"Hiroshi, you’re back! Come eat. School starts tomorrow, so I made something special for you!" Kushina greeted him warmly.
Hiroshi nodded and went to his room.
"Aunt Kushina, where’s Uncle Minato? He’s not here?" Hiroshi asked, noticing Minato’s absence.
"Minato had some important village business to attend to at the Hokage office. He won’t be home for lunch. He took a bento box with him," Kushina explained.
Hiroshi nodded and helped Kushina carry the dishes to the living room.
"Wow, it smells amazing, Aunt Kushina! Your cooking always smells delicious! I’m so envious that Uncle Minato has a wife like you!" Hiroshi said, placing the dishes on the table.
Kushina smiled. "Hiroshi, you’re getting sweeter by the day! Don’t worry, you’ll find someone even better than me someday. Make sure you treat her well!"
"Aunt Kushina, I’m still young. It’s too early to think about that. Let’s eat! I can’t wait to try this delicious food!" Hiroshi said, grabbing his chopsticks and sitting down.
Kushina sat down and began to eat.
"Wow, it’s delicious! I really love your cooking, Aunt Kushina," Hiroshi said happily.
"Eat up! Tomorrow’s school. Have you packed your things?" Kushina asked.
They finished the meal—or rather, Hiroshi finished the meal; Kushina only ate a small portion.
Hiroshi cleared the table and washed the dishes, sparing Kushina the effort. He knew she was pregnant and shouldn’t exert herself.
"I’m so full! Time to rest this afternoon. School starts tomorrow!" Hiroshi said, settling onto the sofa.
