Chapter 1195: A Composite God

Ethan stared, practically blank.

He hadn’t expected it—this girl who’d still looked a little excited a second ago was terrifying once she actually moved. Her ice wasn’t just "freezing" things. It was stealing the battlefield’s temperature, its flow, even the order of energy itself—rewriting the rules over a whole stretch of sky.

And the battlefield changed just as violently with Emerald Castle’s arrival.

The rear-guard troops pouring out of the spatial corridor slammed straight into the fight. Their presence was several times stronger than before. Their weapons, armor, wing rigs, and energy cores all shone with a thicker, richer glow. The enemy soldiers who’d been strutting around moments ago got crushed down immediately by this fresh wave of power.

Sky Fortress rotated its guns and formed crossfire with the newly arrived units. Fallen Star Guard punched in from the flank. Powered combat armor fighters held the front line, taking the enemy counterattack head-on and refusing to give even an inch.

Ethan understood almost at once.

The Emerald Castle forces that had stayed behind really had gotten access to some kind of energy source.

And whatever they’d gained... it was bigger than he’d ever imagined.

He didn’t let his thoughts linger.

The battle wasn’t over. And the most urgent problem in front of him was Karthyx—the man he’d nearly killed, only for someone to drag him back from the edge.

Ethan’s remaining power churned again. Transparent lightning coiled around his arm. He was about to charge out and finish Karthyx for good—

—when a deep, low thunder suddenly rolled across the sky.

It wasn’t normal thunder.

It felt like it came from somewhere higher, from the depths of a more elevated layer of space. Every time it boomed, it hit people in the chest like a heavy fist, making hearts sink for no reason they could explain.

Ethan looked up.

A woman with a graceful, curving figure was floating high above the battlefield. He didn’t even know when she’d appeared. She carried an almost intoxicating elegance, and there wasn’t a hint of panic in her movements—like the chaos below was nothing more than background noise.

But the aura pouring out of her was tyrannical to the extreme.

The moment she was there, the entire sky answered with rumbling thunder.

Ethan’s heart jolted. He took half a step back and triggered a system scan.

No matter how the system analyzed her, it couldn’t display a complete data panel.

No level.

No race.

No clear attributes.

Only huge blocks of flickering, unparseable warnings—glitching across his vision.

And worse—

The energy she radiated was laced with an insanely dense Infernal Abyss presence. The moment it spread, the sky dimmed into darkness. The raging battlefield felt like it had been grabbed by an invisible hand and pressed down—every flow of energy stuttering into a brief, unnatural pause.

Lily saw the woman too.

Her eyes widened, and for the first time, real fear showed plainly on her face. This wasn’t the careful caution of facing a strong enemy.

This was instinct—body and soul reacting together.

She didn’t keep tangling with the enemy in the high sky. She flashed backward and reappeared at Ethan’s side.

"Get your people out."

Lily’s voice was low, but it came fast and sharp.

"Now. Move!"

Ethan looked at her.

Lily was staring at the woman in the sky like she couldn’t look away. Snow-white lightning snapped restlessly around her, tense and unsettled.

"That’s an Abyssal Empress from the Infernal Abyss," Lily said, each word clipped and heavy.

"If she makes a move... we’re all going to die here."

Ethan’s heart dropped like a stone.

If even Lily was scared of her... what kind of monster was this?

He didn’t hesitate anymore. He turned, ready to shout the retreat order—

—and after only two steps, an eerie force fell from the sky and locked onto his body.

Ethan stopped.

Not because he wanted to.

Because that power had already clamped down on his bones, his flesh, his energy, his soul—until even lifting his hand became painfully, impossibly hard.

The Abyssal Empress had chosen him.

Ethan’s whole body shook. Transparent lightning burst out on instinct, but it couldn’t even tear open the outermost layer of the restraint. He was still scrambling for a way out when the power around him suddenly began to gather like a tide.

Idra, Auri, and Nysera lost control in the same instant.

Their bodies melted into liquid streams of energy, pouring along the battlefield’s energy channels toward Ethan and slipping straight into him. Right after that, Lily changed violently too—her physical edges breaking apart as snow-white lightning wrapped her entire form, turning her into a gaseous mass of power.

The next moment, Lily entered Ethan’s body as well.

Something unprecedented detonated from deep inside him.

The sky trembled. The earth roared. The whole world reacted, like it had sensed the birth of a special existence. Ethan’s aura climbed in a straight line, and all those once-separate powers fused together inside him for a brief, violent moment—forming something complex, domineering, and whole.

The Abyssal Empress drifted closer, unhurried, until she was right in front of him.

She lifted a hand and hooked a finger under his chin, tilting his face up. Her gaze was the calm appraisal of someone examining an impossibly rare treasure.

"Never thought I’d see it," she murmured. Her voice was soft, and yet it made the space around them ripple with spreading cracks.

"In a place like this... a composite god."

She leaned in slightly, her eyes full of lofty, amused admiration.

"Someone like you staying here is a waste."

The Abyssal Empress’s lips curved.

"Come back to the Infernal Abyss with me."

Her fingertip slid away from his chin, slow and deliberate.

"I’ll make you into a supreme existence."

Ethan forced his breathing steady.

The newly fused power in his body spun up fast, and at last he tore open part of the restraint. Space popped beneath his feet, and he retreated a step, opening distance between himself and the Abyssal Empress.

After merging Idra, Auri, Nysera, and Lily’s power, his Tier skyrocketed—climbing all the way to 38 Tier.

Even so, the Abyssal Empress still felt lethally dangerous.

She was only standing there, and the energy leaking from her was enough to lace the nearby space with dense cracks. If she truly fought, this world might get smashed into collapse.

But Ethan didn’t let any fear show.

What she was displaying right now... was also around 38 Tier.

Meaning there was still a fight to be had.

Ethan slowly adjusted his aura, then drove all of that merged power into his palm. Transparent lightning, snow-white thunder, Infernal Abyss presence, Primordial Core energy—and several other forces with entirely different natures—surged outward at the same time, condensing between heaven and earth into a gigantic sphere of energy.

The sphere rotated relentlessly, its inner light so complex it was almost chaotic.

The instant it stabilized, the entire sky began to sink.
