Chapter 1194: True Ice Descends
The flame-wreathed man finally realized something was wrong and immediately threw himself backward. Fire burst under his feet as he tried to retreat out of the edge of the blast.
But he was too close.
And the runes Ethan had laid down were too vicious.
The exploding sphere of light swelled violently, swallowing the distance and catching him anyway. His flame shield shattered on impact. The greatsword was knocked up and away. Then the annihilating shock slammed into his chest and tore more than half his body into shreds.
The surrounding space kept getting compressed by the blast.
Huge cracks caved inward. The air twisted into rings of black ripples. Soldiers fighting nearby recoiled in horror—because even from far away, they could feel the death stench riding the shockwave.
"AAAGH—!"
A shriek ripped across the battlefield.
The flame man hung in the aftermath, floating in the residual turbulence, his body ruined beyond recognition. One shoulder was simply gone. His chest had been blown open into a gaping hole. Everything below his abdomen had been ripped apart, too. Flame energy still burned around the wounds, but it couldn’t repair him anymore.
Ethan wasn’t about to give him a single second to breathe.
He forced down the weakness that hit the moment he lost the powered combat armor, and his remaining energy surged again. Transparent lightning poured from his palm, carrying golden runes and that heavy Primordial Core aura, sweeping down on the flame man like a storm.
If this strike landed, it was over.
But right as Ethan was about to finish him, a burst of golden light detonated in the sky not far away.
It was fast—too fast—cutting through the chaos of the battlefield and slamming straight onto the flame man’s broken body. Ethan’s transparent lightning hit the gold, stalled for a fraction of a second... then got shoved aside by sheer force.
And from inside that golden radiance, an even more brutal power erupted.
The flame man’s shattered body was caught and lifted by it. Torn flesh began to knit together at terrifying speed. Broken bones snapped back into place. Charred wounds sealed. Even the limbs that had been blown off started to regrow under the wrapping glow.
Ethan’s expression changed instantly.
Whoever had just arrived was more dangerous than the enemy Lily was holding back.
What made Ethan’s blood go cold, though, was the power rolling off this newcomer—an unbelievably pure aura of ice.
It wasn’t normal frost.
As it spread out from within the gold light, the flames across the battlefield seemed to dip lower, as if they’d been pressed down by an invisible weight. Fine ice crystals appeared in the air. The aura brushed Ethan’s skin, and his scalp tightened—his blood flow even slowed by a beat.
If that power fully covered him, his body would freeze solid.
Ethan immediately prepared to avoid the edge of it—
—when the system notification rang inside his head.
A data panel snapped into view.

The sudden flood of system notifications made Ethan freeze for a split second.
Before the numbers could fully fade from his mind, a dull, heavy rumble rolled down from the depths of the sky. Ethan looked up—and saw the space above the battlefield being ripped open by brute force. A massive spatial corridor was forming, clean and unmistakable.
Ice-blue light flickered along its edges. A tyrannical presence poured out in an endless stream. The moment that power entered this world, it spread like a tide, blanketing the heavens and pressing the already-chaotic battlefield down another notch.
Ethan’s eyes shook.
Emerald Castle.
Those were Emerald Castle’s rear-guard forces.
They’d actually found this place.
And at the very front of them—
Namyanna.
When she stepped out of the corridor, her ice power was already fully unleashed. Extreme ice-blue radiance flooded the sky. The surrounding air froze at a speed you could see. Flames, stray lightning, blood mist, shattered energy fragments—everything scattered across the battlefield was sealed in midair, locked into place like insects trapped in amber.
Even space itself couldn’t endure that cold.
Great cracks spiderwebbed outward from beneath her feet, and the world answered with a deep, grinding roar.
"Master!"
Namyanna shouted, practically vibrating with excitement. She streaked across the frozen sky and appeared directly in front of Ethan.
Ethan stared at her, genuinely caught off guard.
He’d known Namyanna was strong. But with her standing here in the flesh, the natural pressure rolling off her was far beyond what he’d estimated. Her ice was too pure—pure to the point that even the enemy powerhouses instinctively backed away, unwilling to get close.
Ethan was just about to speak when another presence pushed in.
The system alert chimed again.
The flame man Ethan had just blown half to pieces was called Karthyx.
And the one who commanded that icy power—who’d saved Karthyx a moment ago—was Frostvarn.
Now Frostvarn hovered in the sky, his gaze icy and fixed on Ethan’s position—more precisely, fixed on Namyanna at Ethan’s side.
Cold wrapped around Frostvarn like living fog. The space beneath his feet kept frosting over, then shattering, over and over. He studied Namyanna, the wariness in his eyes growing heavier by the second.
"Never would’ve guessed."
His voice came through the chill, carrying a suppressed tremor.
"That someone in this world could possess ice power this strong."
Frostvarn narrowed his eyes.
"Who are you?"
Namyanna’s expression dropped into a hard, dangerous calm.
She raised her hand. Ice gathered from her palm, condensing into shape. A staff appeared in her grip—ice-blue from end to end—its tip crowned with a roiling knot of tidal frostlight that churned like a miniature storm.
"You’re disgusting."
Namyanna tightened her hold on the staff, her anger completely unhidden.
"You actually dared lay hands on my master."
She took one step forward. The sky beneath her feet froze into a sheet of ice.
"Today, I’m going to show you what real ice power looks like!"
Frostvarn’s face flickered.
Before he could fully react, the moisture in the air, the cold currents, even the broken fragments of energy floating through the battlefield were seized by Namyanna’s will. Ice-blue light gathered from every direction, pouring into her—then compressing at the tip of her staff into a razor-sharp, condensed cold tide.
She swung the staff.
The freezing tide shot straight at Frostvarn.
The two ice powers collided in the sky—but there was no balance, no stalemate. Namyanna’s power was deeper, heavier, with a sense of command that crushed everything in its path. Her cold tide rammed through Frostvarn’s frost defenses head-on, forcing the chill around him back, layer by layer, as if it was being driven into his own body.
Frostvarn... was getting suppressed.
