Chapter 260: Chapter 259: Freak Mage

This was a Water Elemental Spirit with a feminine form. It stood there, looking down on the Fire Elemental Minions.

’Do they have a grudge?’

In reality, there were no grudges between Elements.

Jiang Zuo then glanced at the Water Elemental Sisters to the side. The Fire Elemental Minions had them surrounded. ’A misunderstanding?’

After Jiang Zuo appeared, the Fire Elemental Minions stopped their restless movements.

Their big brother had arrived. They were fearless.

Meanwhile, the Water Elemental Spirit began to regard Jiang Zuo with hostility.

Communication was impossible, not that Jiang Zuo had any intention of trying.

’In any case, a good beating comes first.’

Jiang Zuo appeared beside the Water Elemental Spirit in an instant, grabbed its head, and slammed it straight into the ground.

BOOM! The Water Elemental Spirit was smashed face-first into the ground. After this intimate contact, its face was ground against the dirt.

The Water Elemental Spirit roared and began to try and catch Jiang Zuo.

The creature was quite large, after all, with long arms. Jiang Zuo didn’t linger, letting go immediately and backing away a few steps.

The Water Elemental Spirit stared at Jiang Zuo, water practically spouting from its eyes. ’This detestable human, how dare he lay a hand on an Element!’

Jiang Zuo’s expression was placid. In the Elemental Level, there was no Magic to be used. Everything here was an Element, and everything was settled through physical brawls.

And when it came to brawling, Jiang Zuo didn’t believe these things were any match for him.

Jiang Zuo attacked again, this time ordering all the Elements to charge with him.

The Fire Elemental Minions were incredibly excited. They would fight for their big brother, valiant and unafraid of death.

’Chaaarge!’

Swept up in the Fire Elements’ fervor, the Water Elemental Sisters charged forward as well.

The Water Elemental Spirit was contemptuous. It paid these primitive Elements no mind. It only needed to deal with the human.

But to its surprise, the Water Elements attacked it as well.

It swung a massive hand, expecting to send the Fire Elements flying, but it was mistaken. A Fire Element went berserk and grabbed onto it.

Then, brandishing a blade, it started hacking away.

Jiang Zuo had been about to make a move, but he stopped. ’This Elemental Spirit has no fighting spirit,’ he thought.

’Compared to the Fire Elemental Army, it’s far too lacking.’

’Probably too arrogant.’

Even with a Fire Element clinging to it, the Water Elemental Spirit was far superior. It was only stunned for a moment before swatting the Fire Elemental Minion away.

However, this was nothing to the Fire Elemental Minions.

Following their big brother meant conquering the world. How could they retreat? How could they fall?

As long as their big brother was here, they would be fearless.

Wave after wave of Fire Elemental Minions charged forward without a moment’s pause. They possessed a spirit that knew only advancing. They were valiant and unafraid of death. They would never retreat. They fought for their big brother.

They could shine, they could burn, they could incinerate everything.

The more the Elemental Spirit fought, the more terrified it became.

’Heresy! This is absolute heresy! Since when have Elements acted this way for a human?’

’The heretic must be eliminated!’

Just then, it felt its head being forced down again. Once more, it had intimate contact with the ground. Once more, it was being ground into the dirt.

The Elemental Spirit was filled with indignation, but it couldn’t seem to defeat this human.

Then, to its utter shock, it found its arms restrained. It could no longer break free from the human.

Next, it felt the Fire and Water Elements swarming around it.

Then, it felt fear.

Because those Elements were attacking it, swarming it, covering every inch of its body.

AHHHH!

******

A long time later, the Elemental Spirit fled. It fled in a sorry state, fled in terror. It was no longer noble, no longer arrogant.

It had been beaten into submission.

Jiang Zuo’s expression didn’t change much. He just said softly, "Pathetic. It actually got scared."

After all, even after being so thoroughly thrashed by him, the Fire Elemental Leader had never shown a trace of fear. It would just come back to stir up trouble when the time was right. This Spirit wasn’t even as good as a regular Element.

’What a disgrace.’

Just then, the Fire Elemental Minions evolved again. Most of them now had bodies, looking like little fire people.

The Water Elements had only grown a little larger.

This would be a long process.

After dealing with the matter, Jiang Zuo left.

He still had to go back to sleep.

It had been a complete waste of his time. He realized he hadn’t gained any Spiritual Power from this encounter.

When he woke up, he froze. A delicate face was staring at him from not far away. It was a little too close; anyone else would have jumped in fright.

Jiang Zuo spoke up. "What are you doing?"

This person was, of course, Su Qi.

Su Qi just kept staring with a curious expression, showing no intention of answering.

Jiang Zuo reached out and pulled her away. "Didn’t you go find your senior and junior sisters?"

Just then, Jingyue’s voice came from the side. "Don’t worry, brother-in-law, we’re all here. We were just drawn over by you."

Jiang Zuo frowned. ’What about me could possibly have drawn them here?’

Then Jiang Zuo remembered—he had just been in another battle.

Then, Qing Lian kindly reminded him from the side, "We just felt a strong elemental fluctuation and realized it was coming from you, Brother Jiang. Besides, it was just on fire and raining here."

’Well, it happened again.’ Jiang Zuo had nothing more to say.

Su Qi looked at Jiang Zuo. "Alright, spill it. What happened?"

Jiang Zuo sat up and answered truthfully, "I just got into a fight with some Elements, that’s all."

"Huh?"

It wasn’t just Su Qi; even Jingyue and Qing Lian were completely baffled.

’A Mage got into a fight with Elements?’

’Is that even a thing?’

Jiang Zuo had no choice but to say, "I thought they were too noisy, so I gave them a beating. That’s all."

"..."

Jingyue was stunned for a moment, then she recovered and asked, "You can still use Magic?"

Jiang Zuo raised a hand, and a flame leaped forth. The Fire Elemental Minion was full of enthusiasm.

Jingyue stared at Jiang Zuo as if he were a freak. Forget whether it was logical for a Mage to fight an Element—wasn’t it completely illogical to still be able to use Magic *after* fighting them?

Elements weren’t like Spiritual Qi.

It was said that Elements needed to be coaxed.

Otherwise, why would one need elemental affinity?

Without affinity, the Elements would be displeased, and a displeased Element wouldn’t grant you its power.

And without their power, you couldn’t cast Magic.

’So, how could he still obtain Elemental Power after beating them up?’

’Are the great Elements just magnanimous and willing to overlook his offenses?’

’Or is this brother-in-law of hers simply a freak?’

Su Qi, on the other hand, was worried. "Will the Elements come back for revenge? I get the feeling they’re very petty. What if they suddenly come back to attack you?"

Jiang Zuo felt Su Qi’s worries weren’t unfounded. They really did come back for revenge, and they seemed to enjoy it, never tiring of it.

But Jiang Zuo could only shake his head. "It’s nothing. Just a minor squabble."

Qing Lian added, "You should still be careful, Brother Jiang. If anything happens, tell Su Qi right away. She’ll definitely figure something out for you."

Jiang Zuo didn’t say anything. As long as Su Qi was at ease, that was all that mattered.

So, the matter was considered settled. But they now believed that Jiang Zuo had, by some bizarre twist of fate, become a freak Mage.

He might only know how to cast a Fireball, but the man could physically fight Elements.

Would any other Mage dare to do that?

Just try and find one.

After that, Su Qi decided to keep a close eye on Jiang Zuo. What if her foolish husband acted recklessly again?

What if he went back and burned down their house? Then...

At this thought, Su Qi suddenly froze. She seemed to realize why their villa had burned down.

’This guy has fought with Fire Elements more than once?’
