Chapter 366: Growing Better?

Chapter 364

Advanced rank beasts.

A rank that even some millitants of the Corps would find it hard to take down in one blow.

That same rank was what a bunch of Aspirants were dealing massive blows to.

Though Ray drew majority of the attention his way, it didn’t stop hundreds of spiders from lunging towards the others.

Trisha was so beautifully elegant in the way she took down the spiders.

Having fought them before, she was able to strike at their weak points; severing limbs and heads alike faster than what the spiders could catch.

Felix was the opposite.

His brute force and ability to swap positions were what he was using to bulldoze through the beasts like they were nothing.

Advanced rank beasts that could give him a lot of trouble a few months ago was what he was taking down like they worth nothing.

Their chitin or even armour couldn’t protect them from Felix’s fists.

He was breaking through if not in one, but two blows.

Smashing holes through their bodies like they were made out of paper.

Kai was much more efficient but a tad less elegant than Trisha.

He was a mix of Trish and Felix.

After slipping his bandana over one eye, he didn’t waste time in delving into the midst of the beasts and began ripping through them.

His crystal ability was beautiful yet proved to be deadly efficient on the battlefield.

Spikes of crystals burst into the beasts’ mandibles and came out the other way before heavy clubs descended on them with heavy momentum.

Chloe supported in her own way.

Though her arrows couldn’t pierce the beasts’ armours, she was able to take down one or two limbs.

Enough to help the others completely finish the beasts off.

Not a scratch.

Not a bead of sweat and neither did a drop of blood rolled down the Aspirants’ faces as they took down beasts after beasts.

They kept going with such stamina and force that it seemed like they were taking down mere awakened rank beasts.

Advanced rank beasts that were giving them trouble a few months ago?

A rank that some of them were running from and didn’t want to face was what the Aspirants were charging into like it was nothing.

The five weeks they had spent on this Forgotten Lands was enough to forge them into deadly blades capable of taking down a rank they once considered a threat.

The most dangerous of them at the moment was of course— Ray.

After vanishing from view, he began taking down beasts after beasts.

The boy didn’t slow down.

Nor did he falter.

He was reaping the lives of the beasts more than even the grim reaper.

Before they could move or think of moving, a flash of a bone sword would appear before their eyes and the next, their heads were rolling down.

The pair of pale white bone swords had now turned into a sword of black.

Black blood gathered around the sword, rolling down every now and then as Ray kept blitzing in between the beasts.

He was unstoppable.

Unseen.

It was like he was teleporting but he wasn’t.

That was just his natural speed now.

Even when the beasts had caught sight of him, they weren’t able to even attack.

And when they do, the boy was already long gone and they would lose their lives immediately.

It was like he was reading their minds.

But he wasn’t actually doing that.

All he did was perceive their movements. The twitch in their muscles and then act accordingly.

Just that twitch was enough to know that danger was coming.

They had even tried trapping the boy in their circle.

He didn’t fret.

An orb of light was all it took to turn them into bloody mush.

’Their armours would have been a problem for me but now, it isn’t. I have a lot of skills to shatter them.:

Ducking under a slash, Ray thrust the sword in his hand forward.

It hit the underbelly of the spider then shattered instantly.

Swinging his sword upward, he deflected a descending strike towards his head.

And the sword also gave way too.

Not losing a breath, the boy slid down and swept the beast off its feet.

Still not missing a beat, he grabbed its talon leg and hurled it forward.

The beast flew with such force that it crashed with the others spiders trying to dash towards the boy.

And together, they all went flying in a direction.

A strike was hurtling towards his back and the next second,

Bang!

A flash of lightning and Ray was directly behind the beast.

With intense anger, he swung his foot forward— it bashed into the backside of the beast.

Its sharp talons slashed through the ground with its body speeding forward like an out of a control vehicle that collided with the others and they went tumbling across the ground.

Yanking his hand to the side, a bone hammer materialized in his grip which the boy lifted and ploughed into the ground with thunderous force.

The marble flooring was instantly uprooted into the air with a blanket of dust obscuring his position.

The hammer vanished and its place, a bone longsword could be seen.

And with a silent movement, Ray was gone from view.

Not like the spiders could see him now since a heavy blanket of dust obscured him from view.

Nebula’s numerous eyes moved around ever so slightly.

If she had the capability to, she would have been frowning by now.

Ray alone had taken down a hundred of her babies.

While his cohort had collectively taken down more than hundred.

And that was just within five minutes.

’He’s growing stronger. Skillful... it’s like he is more skilful than before. Hang on...’

Her eyes moved ever so slightly as the painful screech of her babies could be heard in the blanket of dust.

’.... Is he sharpening his skills and abilities? Am i-am I making him stronger and better?!’

The realisation struck her like a thunderbolt.

And at the same time, a burst of air dispelled the dust.

Ray could be seen sliding across the marble flooring with more than four dozens head rolling on the ground.

His bone sword cracked and shattered to the ground.

The small cuts on his body was seen healing as a calm smile rested on his face.

Turning to look in the direction of the king rank beasts, his smile turned into a frown.

’This will be harder soon. Next wave will attack at any moment.’
