Chapter 812: Chapter 802: Keep Your Woman in Check

"Sister-in-law, isn’t what you’re doing a bit unfair?" Cole O’Connell leaned his tall frame against the wall, one hand in his pocket, with his high collar accentuating his distinct, chiseled features.

"What’s unfair about it? The more you keep an eye on her, the more she might want to see that man. Instead of letting her meet in secret, isn’t it better that I help you supervise?" Melody Thorne crossed her arms, lifting her elegant chin.

A look that clearly said she was helping him.

Cole O’Connell extinguished the cigarette in his hand, wanting to break up the two people talking, as an unstoppable fire burned in his amber eyes.

"You’re a straightforward guy, right?" Melody propped a hand against the door, her intent clear.

Cole’s eye twitched slightly. "You should ask Jared Quinn; if he’s straightforward, then so am I."

"I’m talking about psychologically," Melody blocked his path, not letting him pass. "People with higher emotional intelligence don’t cling relentlessly. Look, Yulia O’Connell avoids Nathan Knight as much as possible. What’s there to be worried about? Instead of hiding her away, let her see clearly who she can truly rely on."

"Take care of your woman," Cole was already on his phone, dialing Jared Quinn.

Melody Thorne shrugged, "I’m just trying to help you."

Seeing Jared Quinn emerge from the hall, Melody quickly ran over, affectionately linking her arm with his as they returned inside.

Cole’s towering figure leaned against the wall, waiting indefinitely, watching to see when the two in the distance would finish talking.

What Melody said wasn’t without reason.

Give her freedom and see?

Whether she runs or not, she’s still his woman, right?

"What were you doing outside just now?" Jared looked down at the petite woman in his arms.

"Nothing much, Yulia O’Connell wanted to meet her little lover, so I helped her out. I even stopped Cole from interfering."

Jared’s handsome brows twitched slightly; only Melody Thorne would dare to do such a thing. If it were anyone else, they wouldn’t live to tell about it.

"Stay put here, don’t run around,"

"Okay."

"Melody, that necklace is up," Timmy pointed to a set of jewelry on the stage.

Melody looked toward the stage, where the sky-blue jewelry was paired with a clavicle chain, resembling a mighty dragon holding a dazzling water droplet in its mouth from the sea, so bright that you couldn’t look away.

The Heart of the Ocean’s value lies not in its appearance but in its depths, where a hidden pearl holds the legend that it’s the tears of lovers, granting eternal togetherness to whoever possesses it.

The host on the stage explained this legend too,

"I want this today," Melody said, clutching her hands. "No matter the price, I’ll get it. I’ll use all my money if I have to."

Jared chuckled quietly at her determination, only smiling without a word,

"Titus, I like this, can you buy it for me? I want to use it for our engagement party," Jane Rowan cooed to the man beside her.

The Rowan Family was incredibly wealthy, but Jane had a penchant for buying things with men’s money.

Almost everything she wore growing up was gifted by men.

"Sure, as long as you like it," Titus Quinn dotingly caressed her hair while his side glance fixed on Melody Thorne.

The family of three chatted and laughed, an unbearable sight.

"Alright, the auction for the Heart of the Ocean starts now. Those present may raise their paddles to increase the bid, each increment is five million."

As soon as the host’s voice fell, someone immediately bid five million.
