Chapter 735: Chapter 735: Framing

"Justin Lawson, I’m not your grandma," Nina King sneered. "I’m your great-aunt."

"It’s...it’s you," came the trembling voice from the other end. "What are you doing in my house?"

"We’re here to chat with your grandparents about you. Justin Lawson, we’re still at your house. Do you want to come over? I told everyone before, if you’re not focused on acting properly, you might as well come back and spend time with your family."

The man on the other end was clearly agitated. "What exactly do you want? If you dare to hurt my family, I’ll drag the company down even if it kills me."

"I see, well then, keep busy. No need to come back," Nina King glanced at the time and hung up the phone.

"Let’s go. Justin Lawson is doing well at our company," Melody Thorne said, though she wanted to teach Justin a lesson. She wouldn’t involve his family over such a traitor to the company.

"You’re leaving already? Won’t you stay longer?" Justin Lawson’s grandma saw them to the door. "That kid hasn’t had it easy since he was young, he just has a strong desire to win. If he does anything wrong, I hope you can be more forgiving."

"Don’t worry, we will."

Melody Thorne and Nina King got back into the car.

"Justin Lawson is just asking for it. He doesn’t know how to appreciate a good boss. He might have become really famous. Now someone offered him a little money and he’s betrayed us. No wonder he’s never going to make it big."

"Alright, Nina. Not everyone is as loyal to me as you are," Melody Thorne laughed.

Soon, a text message arrived on her phone from Caleb. They had found Justin Lawson and detained him.

"Let’s head back."

"Okay."

At Harold Chapman’s place, Justin Lawson saw Melody Thorne and struggled to get to her, "What about my family? What did you do to my family?"

Just an employee, yet still yelling at her like this. Melody Thorne realized she hadn’t been ruthless enough at the company. Perhaps to those minor actors signed with her company, she seemed as pure as someone who never dirties their hands.

"You don’t have the right to know how they are," Melody Thorne sat across from him. "Spill it. Who’s behind this? How much did they pay you? Justin Lawson, think it over. Even if you don’t talk, I’ll catch the others. It’s easy for someone with my influence to uncover the truth. If you talk, maybe I’ll even let you leave the company safely!"

"Don’t even think about it. I’m an actor. If I betray others now, you might catch them faster. Then if the public finds out I’ve faked it, they’ll never forgive me."

"Melody, Justin Lawson’s bank account suddenly has an extra five million. Just for telling one lie, the other party gave him so much money. So why would that wealthy woman do this unless someone paid her more to frame us? Do you remember offending any big bosses?" Nina King speculated.

Melody Thorne chuckled. "Do you think I need to know them now? I’ve been low-key for a while, and now I’m a hit again. Who knows how many people are watching me here? We’re out in the open, they’re in the dark. It’s inevitable some actors might cozy up to rich people to get at me."

Nina King "..."
