Chapter 680: Chapter 680: You Actually Dare to Hit Me
Go, catch him," Melody Thorne shouted to the security guards at the entrance of the Quinn Corporation as she opened the car door.
A few security guards ran after him.
"Melody, are you okay?" Jared Quinn had just finished a meeting and was leaving when he saw the scene unfold.
"I’m fine, have someone take him to get treated," Melody quickly replied.
Jared Quinn’s eyes scanned over the driver’s head; the blood wound was glaringly visible, the assailant clearly meant to kill. A fierce aura started to emanate from him.
If Melody Thorne had been driving herself, the consequences would have been unthinkable.
"Get me that man!"
"Yes, sir."
Rochelle Thorne stomped her foot in frustration, how could she mess up everything, even hitting a person!
"Rochelle, Rochelle," Mrs. Thorne suddenly appeared at the Quinn Corporation’s entrance, watching her daughter arm-in-arm with another woman calling her mom, not returning home for days and nights, became hard to accept.
"Why are you here?" Rochelle’s tone was full of disdain.
Hearing Rochelle’s contemptuous tone, Mrs. Thorne’s heart trembled violently, "Rochelle, you haven’t been home for days, can’t I come to see you?"
Sila knew Mrs. Thorne, it was Mrs. Thorne who saved her back then and took in her child; she was their benefactor.
"Mrs. Thorne..." Sila was about to speak but was stopped by Rochelle, "Mom, don’t pay attention to her, they’re all bad to me!"
Rochelle’s words immediately silenced Sila. Her eyes were full of disdain as she looked at Mrs. Thorne, "Just leave, I don’t want to see you right now."
What use is it without power or influence?
"You..." Mrs. Thorne trembled all over with anger.
"Rochelle Thorne!" Melody suddenly walked over with large strides, grabbed Rochelle’s arm, and gave her a hard slap "Who do you think you are? Do you think you can look down on my mom? Think about how she’d always pampered and protected you. Even if she had raised a dog, it wouldn’t bite her now!"
"Ah!!!" Rochelle, whose hair had been carefully styled, was disheveled from Melody’s slap and screamed, "Melody Thorne, how dare you hit me!!!"
Sila, seeing her daughter hit in front of her, found it hard to accept and asked Melody with an increasingly harsh look, "Why did you hit my daughter?"
"She doesn’t even recognize her own mom and just follows whoever has money, a slap is letting her off easy!" Melody said, expressionless.
"That’s enough, Melody. If she doesn’t recognize me, let it be; I’ll just consider her not my daughter anymore," Mrs. Thorne glanced at Sila, feeling a sense of familiarity she couldn’t place, as if they had met before.
"Rochelle, let’s go," Sila pulled Rochelle to leave, even the words of gratitude she had for Mrs. Thorne were held back.
"Mom, she hit me, why aren’t you letting me hit back?" Rochelle screamed as Sila dragged her to the car.
Sila closed her eyes briefly, "Mrs. Thorne was kind to me back then. If it hadn’t been for her, I would have died long ago, and how could I have had you and left you for her to raise? Even if she’s not good to you, the fact remains that she was once kind to us, just avoid her from now on."
"You had me and let her raise me?" Rochelle’s pupils widened in shock; she always thought Sila recognized her as a goddaughter because she found her pretty and pleasing.
If that’s the way it is...
Then Melody Thorne must be... Sila’s biological daughter, who truly grew up in the Thorne family.
