"Looks like we’ve got company," Kent said, drawing his dagger.

Ding!

System notifications: enemy incoming

Name: A skeleton dragon of ancient times.

Cultivation: in between Level-C and Level-B

A massive skeleton dragon emerged from the shadows, its bony wings spreading wide as it roared again.

The Dark Alliance members immediately went on the defensive, charging at the dragon with their weapons.

Kent hung back, watching them struggle. "This should be good."

One of the members turned to him. "What are you waiting for?! Join the fight!"

"Alright, alright," Kent said, rolling his eyes. You want me to help you.

He activated Flashing Step, instantly appearing on the dragon’s back.

WHOOSH!

"Surprise, big guy!" Kent said, stabbing his hellfire-coated dagger into the dragon’s spine.

BOOOOM!

The dragon roared in pain, thrashing wildly as it tried to shake him off.

Meanwhile, the Dark Alliance members were too busy fighting to notice Kent’s antics.

"Man, I love this kind of job," Kent said, laughing.

The skeleton dragon roared, its bony wings beating against the air as it struggled against Kent’s hellfire-coated dagger. The Dark Alliance Level-C members were shouting and swinging their weapons, but none of their attacks seemed to work.

Meanwhile, Kent?

Oh, he was having the time of his life.

"Hah! This thing gives SP, too?! I should ride more skeleton dragons!" Kent cackled, holding onto the dragon’s bony spine like it was a rodeo show. The Ember ling sparrow was sleeping inside his jacket. Kent was very careful not to harm the little bird. His movements were restricted for that reason.

The leader of the Dark Alliance, still unaware of Kent’s true identity, gritted his teeth.

"Enough of this! We need to bring it down before it wipes out my team!"

"Good plan, boss!" Kent shouted from the dragon’s back. "I’ll help!" Then…He let go.

Whoosh!

Kent let himself fall off the dragon’s back, twisting mid-air as he descended. He made sure to position himself right behind a few Dark Alliance members.

"INCOMING!" Kent yelled, flailing his arms.

CRASH!

He landed directly on two Dark Alliance members, flattening them into the dirt.

"Ow! You idiot!" one of them groaned.

Kent stood up and dusted himself off. "Oops. My bad, guys. That landing could have been better."

The leader glared at him. "You’re making things worse!"

"Oh? I thought I was helping!" Kent grinned.

The dragon swung its tail, sending another group of Dark Alliance members flying like bowling pins.

The remaining Dark Alliance fighters stumbled back, fear now creeping into their eyes. The leader clenched his fists. "This thing is too strong! We need to retreat and regroup!"

Kent’s eyes widened.

Oh, hell no.

He didn’t sabotage these idiots so that they could escape.

"Oh no, boss," Kent said dramatically, stepping in front of the retreating Dark Alliance members. "You said we needed to fight, so we should fight!"

The leader scowled. "What are you doing, 888?! Move!"

"Move?" Kent gasped, placing a fake offended hand on his chest. "After everything we’ve been through? I can’t let you leave! Here, let me help!"

And then—!! Kent grabbed one of their own weapons (a massive great sword) and swung it wildly—accidentally knocking three of them back toward the dragon.

BOOM!

"NOOO!"

The dragon stomped on them instantly.

Kent winced. "Damn. That looked like it hurt."

The leader’s face turned red with fury. "YOU’RE SABOTAGING US, AREN’T YOU?!"

Kent grinned. "Oh, you finally figured it out?"

FWOOSH!

🔥

Kent activated Hellfire, his flames bursting to life around him. His casual smirk turned into something much more sinister.

"You guys were fun to mess with," he admitted, "but playtime’s over."

The remaining Dark Alliance members suddenly realized they were in serious trouble.

"You… you’re not one of us?" one of them stammered.

Kent cracked his knuckles. "Nope. But thanks for the SP donations."

The Dark Alliance Leader growled, spiritual energy flaring around him. His aura turned jet black, an oppressive force filling the air.

"You’ve ruined my mission, brat."

"Hey, in my defense, it was ruined from the start," Kent said.

The leader lunged forward, his fists covered in shadow energy.

Kent activated the Flashing Step—

WHOOSH!

💨

The leader swung—but Kent was already gone.

Kent appeared behind him, dagger in hand. "Surprise."

SLASH!

The Soul Slasher dagger, coated in Hellfire, cut through the leader’s spiritual defenses like butter. The dark alliance leader froze.

Ding!

Frozen skill is active. The effect lasts for 1.5 seconds.

The leader stumbled, clutching his side, eyes wide.

"W-What… kind of fire is that?" he gasped.

Kent spun his dagger, the flames flickering menacingly. "The kind that sends you straight to the afterlife."

The leader roared in fury, frozen effects disappeared, charging forward again—but he was too slow.

Kent sidestepped, then delivered one final flaming stab—!

BOOM!

The leader was thrown back near the Skeleton dragon. Skeleton dragon attacks the dark alliance leader. Kent says have fun. I have to go. My treasures are waiting for me.

Ding!

The skeleton dragon and Dark Alliance leader start to fight each other, the dark alliance leader commands the rest of his team members to fight with him they need to defeat the skeleton dragon first. After that, they will deal with Kent.

Kent got out of the chamber and searched the area, looking for anything valuable.

His eyes landed on something shimmering in the dim ruins light.

"Wait a second…" Kent approached a small crack in the wall. He bent down, running his fingers across the glowing blue stones embedded inside.

Ding!

System Notification:

Spiritual Ore Mine Discovered!

Kent grinned. "Now this… this is good loot."

He quickly activated Appraisal on the broken tools scattered nearby.

Ding!

Many Broken Spiritual Tools Detected.

The host can use Architect Skill + Hellfire to Repair Them.

Kent grinned even wider. "Jackpot."

With his newfound Ore mine and the ability to repair weapons, Kent’s next plan was clear.

Step 1: Collect as many broken weapons and tools as possible.

Step 2: Use his SSS-Rank Architect of creation Skill to fix them.

Step 3: Sell them when he goes outside the ruin.

"This is better than robbing rich cultivators!" Kent laughed. I am also getting SP from Dark Alliance members, they are fighting the skeleton dragon. Ha Ha Ha!!!

He stuffed his bag with as many broken weapons as he could carry, then made a mental note to return for the ore later.

"Once I sell these," he murmured, rubbing his hands together, "I’ll be the richest student in this whole damn ruin."

As he walked away, a bag full of broken tools and mind full of business ideas, he had no idea that things were about to get way more chaotic on the other side.

Meanwhile, The Dark Alliance members stood in a tight formation, their bloodied weapons clutched tightly as they watched the massive Skeleton Dragon before them.

The rage undead beast was at least twenty meters long, its hollow eye sockets burning with eerie blue flames. Its bony wings spread wide, and its jaw unhinged, letting out a deep, echoing roar that made the air itself tremble.

ROOOOOAAAARRRR!

The Dark Alliance Leader narrowed his eyes. "Prepare for battle."

The remaining seven Level-C members instantly surrounded the dragon, their spiritual energy flaring as they prepared to engage.

The dragon, seeing them as intruders, didn’t hesitate. It swung its tail like a wrecking ball, aiming to crush it in one move.

WHOOSH!

"DODGE!" the leader bellowed.

The fighters scattered, just in time to avoid the massive tail that slammed into the ground. The shockwave sent rocks and debris flying, causing the weaker members to stumble.

But one wasn’t fast enough.

A Level-C fighter was too slow—the dragon’s tail clipped him before he could escape.

CRACK!

The unfortunate cultivator’s ribs shattered, and he was sent flying across the battlefield before slamming into a boulder.

BOOM!

"ARGH!!" He screamed in pain. Blood dripped from his mouth as he clutched his chest.

The leader didn’t even look at him. Forget him, he barked. "The weak are just stepping stones for the strong."

Knowing the Dark Alliance’s brutal philosophy, the others didn’t protest. They tightened their grips on their weapons, steeling themselves for what came next.
