Jade Monroe replied I can bend the rules for my bro. I have the power to do so. Now, Tyler, go and prepare everyone. We will enter the stone gate within one hour.

The camp was quiet after the chaotic battle that had unfolded earlier. The Watchers and Nexus operatives sat around in small groups, some cleaning their weapons, others tending to minor wounds. The captured Dark Alliance members had been rounded up and bound in a heavily guarded area, their sinister communication bracelets removed.

The atmosphere in the Watcher and Nexus camp was tense yet orderly. Everyone gathered around in front of Jade.

Jade Monroe stood in the middle of the camp, his eyes scanning his subordinates’ weary yet determined faces. They were ready, but the challenge before them was not an easy one.

Jade turned to Tyler Stone, one of the Tier-4 Watchers and his trusted second-in-command. My bro, Kent, went in alone, Jade muttered, rubbing his temples.

"Of course, he did." Tyler sighed. Sir, he doesn’t listen to orders. He’s reckless.

"He’s efficient," Jade corrected, crossing his arms. My bro is a wild card, but that’s exactly why I sent him in first. He’ll get us the perfect opportunity to strike.

Tyler murmurs to himself. You didn’t let him go. He just informed you before going in.

Tyler says out loud. Sir. "what if he gets caught?" He is just a student, after all. He didn’t receive any proper training.

Jade chuckled. "Caught? My bro is a true business genius. He’ll slip through cracks no one even knows exist." I trust him.

After that, he didn’t let anyone say anything. Enough with the chit-chat. Listen to me carefully. The Watchers listened carefully as Jade formulated a battle plan.

"Kent promised to leave marks on the walls if there were multiple paths inside the ruins," Jade explained. "Once we enter, our first priority is to find those marks and take the most efficient route."

Tyler nodded. "Understood. But what if the marks get erased or tampered with?"

Jade smirked. "Then we adapt. We’ll send small scouting teams ahead to confirm the safest routes while the main force moves in carefully."

A young Watcher raised his hand. "Sir, what if Kent gets too far ahead? He could get himself killed before we even reach him."

Jade’s smirk widened. "Oh, don’t worry. Kent’s main priority is making money just like me. Ahem.. ahem… He won’t get himself killed before he collects every piece of loot in that ruin."

Tyler sighed again. "That’s… actually a fair point."

"Our biggest advantage?" Jade continued. "The Dark Alliance doesn’t know we’re onto them."

He tapped the makeshift table. "They’re going straight for the core, which means they’ll have to fight the Guardian."

Tyler’s eyes lit up with realization. "So instead of fighting them head-on…"

"We let them weaken each other first." Jade nodded. "The Guardian will be strong, and these Dark Alliance members aren’t invincible. If we time it right, we’ll attack when both sides are already exhausted."

A murmur of approval spread through the ranks.

"This means we wait." Jade declared. "No one rushes in blindly. We give them time to struggle, lose numbers, and wear themselves out. Then we strike."

Jade turned to his elite team. "Once we’re inside, Tier-4 Watchers and I will position ourselves near the Guardian’s chamber. We will remain hidden until the perfect moment."

Tyler spoke up. "And what about the rest of the team?"

"They will secure the outer corridors and block any reinforcements. We can’t let the Dark Alliance escape once we engage. If we take out this group, their entire operation in this ruin collapses."

A Watcher asked, "What about civilians? There are still students here." What about the prisoner?

Jade’s expression darkened. "Anyone caught assisting the Dark Alliance will be treated as an enemy. No exceptions."

Miss Elena will be in charge of the team. Her job is to look after the prisoners. Go inform her. I already told her to look after them. Tell her if anyone tries anything, kill them without hesitation. Give temporary guard roles to some of the excellent students.

Tyler clenched his fist. "Understood, sir."

With the plan in place, the Watchers and Nexus operatives began preparing for-

1. Weapons were checked and sharpened.

2. Energy was conserved for the battle ahead.

3. Scouting teams reviewed formations and contingency plans.

Jade walked among them, observing their preparations. This was going to be one of the biggest fights they had faced in this ruin.

After some time, Tyler approached Jade again.

"Sir, there’s just one thing that concerns me."

Jade looked at him curiously. "Go on."

"It’s Kent."

Jade smirked. "What about him?"

Tyler exhaled. "You’re really trusting a single student to be the foundation of this operation?"

Jade shrugged. "Kent is unpredictable, but that’s what makes him dangerous—to both sides. The Dark Alliance won’t see him coming."

Tyler groaned. "And if Kent just runs off to chase loot instead of following the plan?"

Jade grinned. "Then we adjust. That’s what makes this fun."

Tyler stared at him in disbelief. "Sir, this is a military operation, not a gambling match!"

Jade laughed. "Oh, Tyler, everything in life is a gamble. You just have to know when to go all in."

As the time to act drew near, the Watchers and Nexus members gathered at the entrance of the stone gate.

Jade took one last deep breath, his expression turning serious. "Alright, everyone. This is it. Stick to the plan, and we win this without losing a single person. Understood?"

A chorus of determined voices rang out. "Understood, sir!"

Jade nodded. "Then let’s go."

With that, the Watchers and Nexus forces stepped into the darkness—following the trail Kent had left behind.

Back to the time when Dark Alliance members entered the stone gate. Kent activates the Spiritual Clock and snuck after the Dark Alliance group as they enter the gate. The gate creaked open, revealing a swirling vortex of energy.

WHOOSH!

💨

Kent slipped through the gate just before it closed, following the group from a safe distance.

The Dark Alliance members moved in formation, their leader—a tall man with a scar running down his cheek—barking orders.

"Stay sharp!" the leader growled. "These core areas are filled with traps and monsters. No mistakes!"

Kent watched from behind a crumbling pillar, grinning. "This is going to be fun."

After observing them for a while, Kent decided it was time to make his move.

He deactivated the Spiritual Clock and stepped out of the shadows, waving cheerfully.

"Yo, guys!"

The entire group froze, turning to look at him.

"Who the hell are you?!" the leader demanded, drawing his sword.

"Relax, relax," Kent said, holding up his hands. "I’m one of you! Code number… uh… 888."

The leader narrowed his eyes. "888? I don’t remember you."

"I was sent as backup," Kent lied smoothly. "You know how it is—orders from above." My duty was to gather information about Nexus. They don’t know my identity, that’s why I wasn’t caught. When I saw you guys enter the gate I thought I can help you guys.

This kid is so young. Nexus won’t send a school kid. He might be one of us. The leader hesitated, then grunted. "Fine. But stay out of my way." you guard the back!!

Kent grinned. "You got it, boss."

Over the next hour, Kent expertly sabotaged the Dark Alliance group while pretending to help them.

Trap #1: The Slippery Slope

As they climbed a steep slope, Kent "accidentally" loosened some rocks, sending half the group sliding back down on dirt.

"WHO DID THAT?!" one of them shouted, covered in dirt.

"Oops," Kent said innocently.

Trap #2: The Mysterious Noise

While passing through a narrow corridor, Kent used his fire to create a faint crackling sound, making it seem like the walls were about to collapse.

"RUN!" one of them screamed, bolting forward.

The entire group panicked, trampling over each other in their haste to escape.

Trap #3: The Surprise Attack

When a group of skeleton knights ambushed them, Kent conveniently "forgot" to warn the others until the last second.

"Uh, guys? You might want to turn around…"

"WHAT?!"

CLANG!

💥

The Dark Alliance members barely managed to fend off the knights, glaring at Kent the entire time.

By the time they reached the chamber, the leader glared daggers at Kent.

"You’re acting suspicious," he growled. "Are you really one of us?"

Kent grinned nervously. "Of course! Why would I lie?"
